I by no means have the best PC specs to run Trackmania at full settings, though I am considerate enough with graphics that I do decrease mine to the FAST preset to allow for a consistent FPS experience throughout online play and single player. [for reference; my laptop has a RTX 3060 (95w), Ryzen 5 5600H, 16GB of RAM. + a 144Hz monitor]

In a single player (Track of the Day) setting; especially on the recent map Skyholm (which i personally love!), my computer is able to pull around 180~ FPS. Which is more than enough. However, in a multiplayer setting (Cup of the Day); with around 20+ players in the server (hidden through an in-game bind) I was only pulling around 100~ FPS, and at best it can hit 120 FPS, and at worst: 80 FPS. This would be amplified in the first rounds of the Cup of the Day knockout, with players up to 64 per server.

With such a significant drop in frames, I'm sure a lot of people also notice this when playing in single player vs. multiplayer. It would be very considerate of the developers to try and tackle this issue, so that players will have a better experience online and offline.

As of recent, I've been also growing the community in Indonesia, and not all players here don't have the luxury of a good or decent PC to be able to run Trackmania well enough, though they still pull through with super low settings so that they can enjoy the game (ultra low resolution, etc.). Optimizing the game further can open up a huge market in the South East Asian/South Asian territories, which most people do not have the best PC's to run games of this graphical intensiveness.

[Suggestions]

  1. Create a 'performance' based preset, this'll help boost FPS for those who do not have strong enough computers to enjoy Trackmania.
  2. Create a setting that disables other players in online play; which means they do not need to be rendered, or render them with less detail in lower settings to boost the FPS further.
  3. Create a feature which makes mappers allow for a 'low' preset version of a map, which will have less scenery and blocks that are uneeded for gameplay, further reducing FPS drops.
  4. Optimize the game further to help everyone pull more FPS within the game, as the game feels unoptimized.

Once again, thank you for taking these into consideration, looking forward to some sort of response, because I want more and more people to enjoy this game as much as some of us within the community does.
