Based on what we’ve seen in Alpha (and sharing my own anecdotal experience of playing him), he should have solid peel potential. With the reduction in damage, and increase in survivability, he’s able to focus more on displacement and making space for his team, including peeling for the backline when needed.

When you consider the increased CC on abilities like Seismic Slam, improved stun duration on a charged Rocket Punch (from the Power Block ability), and the rather large area slow on Meteor Strike, Doom’s potential to peel for his team is there.

Orisa is definitely a more aggressive tank with her rework, however abilities...

The FG inspiration behind Doom is something that Geoff has stated as something he wanted to preserve as part of his kit. Glad to see that you’re picking up what we laid down with this

Getting something ready for a static image like the asset in the blog is very different than getting it ready for a video

It’s a duration, and you’re able to move (albeit more slowly), when it’s active

Just to manage some expectations here:

The new look for both Orisa and Doomfist are not quite ready to be shown in a gameplay reveal trailer like we normally do (you’ll see in beta that they, along with some other heroes, will still have what we call their 1.0 looks).

This is not the case.

We’re not ready to divulge more details than that at this time.

Sure, I get that, but there’s better ways you can communicate that sentiment without diminishing the work of dozens of hard working artists, producers, and QA professionals.

I believe in you

Yes, this is true.

Simultaneously, we also make sure that we allow for the fact that people make mistakes. It’s on us to recognize when folks demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow from past missteps and, in most cases, to help them become a productive member of the larger OW community.

A philosophy I learned several years ago is that “good people have bad days”. I would much rather we help someone grow as an individual/professional by applying a bit more elbow grease to particularly challenging relationships.

Respectfully, this statement disrespects the time, craft, and effort that our art team pours into creating new cosmetics for the game.

It may not be the content you want, however it is content and represents the hard work of a team of very talented artists. Even these new look Legendary skins required work from all aspects of the art pipeline.

We have a core philosophy when it comes to our relationship with content creators: we do not dictate their content

Whether or not someone is critical of our team, our decisions, or our philosophy does not factor into who we invite into our trusted groups. A good rule of thumb that we communicate to creators is to critique the work, not the worker. We welcome folks who hold our feet to the flames, both in terms of community and creators.

It’s far more important to us that they’re promoting an inclus...

Hiya folks,

With today’s tease of the Overwatch Anniversary Remix 1 event, we wanted to talk about what you can expect from Remix events, and what this means for popular in-game events like Archives, Summer Games, and Anniversary in the lead-up to Overwatch 2.

Like standard Anniversary events, Remix events will throw open the vault doors, allowing you to unlock every skin normally available during these events, plus all new “remixed” Legendary skins. These offer a spin on our ‘greatest hits’ with new looks for some of the most popular skins ever released, and you can look forward to six of them per Remix event.

For each Anniversary remix, three popular mini-event skins will make a limited time return and can obtained by completing their specific challenges. Each challenge will only last a week, so If you missed your chance the first time around, now’s the best chance to earn these limited...

I do not handle the beta invites for the broader community. That’s managed through another team and is well beyond the scale any one individual person could/should manage.

The creators who are signing up for beta access will not receive access any sooner than the earliest one of of you could potentially receive access, on April 26th, 2022.
