This is correct, the band is indeed a "dev band" ;)

The medium and high settings certainly don't feel the same as they did in previous versions of the game. Optimization has obviously been a point of contention for several players, hence the recent negative reviews on the steam page and something I mentioned in my previous post. Would you also be able to go into detail about the changes or "tweaks" made to the low settings you mentioned?

The Low spec was pushed down a bit in order to lower the required specs to play the game.

Realistically though, how would someone do a side by side comparison of visual fidelity when we don't have access to previous version of the game. I remember seeing a post a while back about a change to the grass textures being lower res and people just dismissing that as being "nitpicky."

Having come back to the game for the 1.0 release I can honestly say that I have no interest in playing it at the moment. In it's current state the game feels way to fast paced. This might be due to the ping system. It needlessly speeds up the pace of the combat and the overall game play experience. This is something that was a huge appeal to me early on in the games development cycle. The UI feels clunky, I really don't like how I can't see my inventory and my hunters traits on the same screen anymore. The graphics feel a bit off as well. I have noticed that the fire and lighting effects look awesome but the overall the graphics feel washed out or bland. I can't put my finger on...

Hey!

We have received this image multiple times and I can confirm that it was not due to a graphical downgrade but simply an artistic change.

It is similar to how each map changed with newer versions from a level design perspective.

Other frequent images we encounter are from pre alpha footage, compared to that we have changed the color palette and thus the lighting, but no changes were made to the graphics.

The medium and high settings should match to older game versions. However, the low setting was tweaked a while ago.

Please continue sending us your images or screenshots, most likely the graphical 'downgrades' are due to the default Low settings or other unforeseen bugs/issues. These can point us towards these issues so we can look into them !

Happy Hunting!

Because Infected (after your words) I can put somehow on the grunts (because infection, zombies etc.) but Marked... I tried to translate and find synonymous but didnt successed.

Hey! Please read to book of Monsters , that should explain all AI related questions ;) or at least most !

I once had one of the devs drop in on my stream when I had like 3 viewers. Apparently people followed him on twitch, because I got up to like 30-40 which was waaaaay more than I ever had before.

He hung out and chatted for a little over an hour asking about my initial impressions, gaming history, system specs. Then we spent 20 minutes looking at the roadmap and going over it. Had a great time with an awesome dev.

My only real complaint about the game was that the crosshair wasn't in the middle of the screen. Haven't played in a long time, don't know if they ever changed that.

@TheBeedyBoy on Twitter was the dev. Thanks again for a great time. Will be coming back to Hunt soon.

Happy to hear that ! ;)

Then I don't know what is wrong. Because I bought the game on Day 1 in February 2018 and in the first months it all went fine. We did some boss runs and whenever we encountered players the odds were even - I did 16 kills and died 11 times so it was fine.

Then I took a break and ever since I have no actual chance to win a shootout anymore. No matter with which of my friends I team up. My stats now are 21 to 67. Considering I already had 16 kills back then it means my recent stats is 5/53 (this means I am currently dying 91% of the time we encounter other players)

I always thought it happens because we 10-30 hours playtime get matched to 1000+ hours playtime dudes. I don't know how you calculate skill? Does K/D ratio count in? But if newer players get wooped 91% of the time by hardcore pros then it means they probably won't stay for long.

It is elo based, so if you die a lot, sooner or later you will be facing "worse" players so it matches your skill level. It calculates pvp rating, we had a blog earlier explaining it on the Hunt website, please give it a read! https://www.huntshowdown.com/news/hunt-s-new-skill-based-matchmaking-system-explained

That is not correct, it was never disabled! :) we have introduced some tweaks here and there, but that is it.

Oh okay, I didn't know that. But I think I have identified the biggest problem of the game's state. There is no skill based matchmaking. I found out I am going against prestiged players all the time while I am on my first play. So naturally I never win anything and it gets frustrating.

I guess that is why players are leaving the game right now. Every match is just pros playing against each other and newer players don't get a foot in the game.

The matchmaking is skill based. Therefore ranks or prestige ranks do not matter! :)

It's honestly the best game I've played in about 10 years or so, truly an underrated and underappreciated wonder of a game.

Thank you, Hunter. Your words come to us as if a candle in the darkness.
