I once had one of the devs drop in on my stream when I had like 3 viewers. Apparently people followed him on twitch, because I got up to like 30-40 which was waaaaay more than I ever had before.

He hung out and chatted for a little over an hour asking about my initial impressions, gaming history, system specs. Then we spent 20 minutes looking at the roadmap and going over it. Had a great time with an awesome dev.

My only real complaint about the game was that the crosshair wasn't in the middle of the screen. Haven't played in a long time, don't know if they ever changed that.

@TheBeedyBoy on Twitter was the dev. Thanks again for a great time. Will be coming back to Hunt soon.

Happy to hear that ! ;)

Then I don't know what is wrong. Because I bought the game on Day 1 in February 2018 and in the first months it all went fine. We did some boss runs and whenever we encountered players the odds were even - I did 16 kills and died 11 times so it was fine.

Then I took a break and ever since I have no actual chance to win a shootout anymore. No matter with which of my friends I team up. My stats now are 21 to 67. Considering I already had 16 kills back then it means my recent stats is 5/53 (this means I am currently dying 91% of the time we encounter other players)

I always thought it happens because we 10-30 hours playtime get matched to 1000+ hours playtime dudes. I don't know how you calculate skill? Does K/D ratio count in? But if newer players get wooped 91% of the time by hardcore pros then it means they probably won't stay for long.

It is elo based, so if you die a lot, sooner or later you will be facing "worse" players so it matches your skill level. It calculates pvp rating, we had a blog earlier explaining it on the Hunt website, please give it a read! https://www.huntshowdown.com/news/hunt-s-new-skill-based-matchmaking-system-explained

I thought skilled based match making was disabled a while ago.

That is not correct, it was never disabled! :) we have introduced some tweaks here and there, but that is it.

Oh okay, I didn't know that. But I think I have identified the biggest problem of the game's state. There is no skill based matchmaking. I found out I am going against prestiged players all the time while I am on my first play. So naturally I never win anything and it gets frustrating.

I guess that is why players are leaving the game right now. Every match is just pros playing against each other and newer players don't get a foot in the game.

The matchmaking is skill based. Therefore ranks or prestige ranks do not matter! :)

It was an NDA for the Xbox Beta :)

It's honestly the best game I've played in about 10 years or so, truly an underrated and underappreciated wonder of a game.

Thank you, Hunter. Your words come to us as if a candle in the darkness.
