With Update 5.0, we’re heading to the Pacific. This update brings two new maps, new factions, new weapons and vehicles into this all new theater of war.
Our focus for this update has been on delivering this amazing content, and on continuing to improve the quality of life for our Battlefield V players. Some of the QoL improvements include UI tweaks, fortifications, significant sound and audio adjustments, a new option for soldier movement, map tweaks, and more.
It’s a big list of improvements, tweaks, and additions, so dive in.

I don’t have an answer to share right now. The focus has been getting BFV core back into a good place and to get Chapter 5 out the door. The team is looking at some things for Firestorm, as mentioned by Ryan in the Letter from the Front, but I haven’t heard any update as of yet.
Btw - I know there’s been some spirited and passionate discussion in this thread about certain topics (Elites, specifically), but I want to thank everyone who has kept it constructive and productive.
I’m signing off for now - gonna chug something cold medicine and make dinner, and I may check in throughout the weekend (intermittently), but I hope everyone has a great weekend, plays lots of video games, and I’ll definitely see y’all back on Monday morning. Next week is gonna be quite busy.

I noticed that some of the weapon rewards for Chapter 5 are tied to chapter progress and not weekly progress. Will those weapons still be purchasable with CC after the end if the chapter, or are they limited time only?

Chapter comes out on 31st. Update comes out before that. Chapter 5 content will be playable on 31st (except Wake Island - coming in December).

Uhhhhh when someone buys an elite, don’t they know they already can’t use them 1/2 of the time? You can’t use German elites with the British faction.
With this Logic shouldn’t dice just completely remove faction limitations altogether?
This is the fourth or fifth time this argument has been made, but there’s a fallacy to the argument: You can’t use Allied Elites for Axis forces, just as you can’t use Axis Elites for Allied forces. Germany and Japan are Axis forces, Britain and the US are Allied forces.
I’m not being sassy, but this is a pretty obvious difference between the two forces, regardless of factions within the forces.
As stated elsewhere, I’m just sharing the info that I have today. And I am sharing the feedback from this thread with the Devs. If they decide to change it, I’ll let you know.
Hey /u/Braddock512, I feel like a super dedicated Battlefield group has been ignored so far BFV. That group is the Easter Egg Hunters. Previous games have had some pretty significant and fun Easter Eggs to figure out and BFV has lacked quite a bit of that. If there is anyway you can nudge the devs towards adding some sort of Phantom Program back into the game that would be very much appreciated.

So where have you heard feedback on this point from other than on forums and reddit? Or is there a PR guy somewhere in the mix saying this what you’re gonna have to do to keep the more casual guys happy?
I honestly think reddit should be one of the best resources for you guys in order to mould and shape the game to suit its wide range of users. Granted, you’re starting to see that and take advantage of it a little more I think, but most of us think you’re wrong on this issue.
I’ve talked to folks on Twitter, FB, Reddit, Forums, Discord, and even in game.
Reddit is a great resource. It’s not the only one, and it certainly isn’t more or less important than the others.
