Hey there!
Just to be clear - as outlined in the post, the primary focus of this test is for the pirate Insurgencies mechanic and the enlistment into the pirate factions.

There are a few additional elements that will be viewable and accessable in parts to individuals on the test server, however, details with regards to any EVE Vanguard related content or interactions are not a part of this test.

When more news is available and ready to be shared (along with test plans) you’ll likely see that in a more dedicated news, or forum post depending on the level of coordination required.

This thread will be updated with known issues pertaining to the Enlistment/Insurgency.

Known Issues:

  • In the insurgency window, the “learn more” & “find objectives” buttons on the bottom right are currently non-functional
    image (183)

  • The Station services button still always opens up the Factional Warfare window, when it should open up the enlistment window if you are not enlisted in Factional Warfare.

  • System names in the panels on the right-hand side of the insurgency window are currently not clickable

Greetings Capsuleers!

We have an update about a testing window Singularity to share with you all today. As part of the upcoming Havoc expansion, a new mechanic is going to be added to the existing Factional Warfare zones, “Pirate Insurgencies” and we’d like your help with testing it out!

When is the test running?

  • Singularity will be opening for testing on Thursday 19th October at 18:00 UTC and closing again at 20:00 UTC.

What will be included in this patch?

  • We will be patching Singularity with several parts of the Havoc expansion (not the whole thing!) and won’t be fully representative of the entire expansion. The primary focus of this test is the Pirate Insurgencies. Some additional features are also included but may not be considered final or a part of this test.

What exactly is being tested?

Enlistment:

  • Enlisting with...

Hey folks!

During downtime yesterday an update to the Corp History ESI endpoint was put into place, then an hour or so later the service was re-activated and it started caching again. The caching process should be finished around 1200 UTC today so this endpoint should once again be fully operational after this point. In terms of adjusting any existing services that are utilizing this endpoint, please be aware that it now has the same limitations as the Market History ESI endpoint which, just as a reminder is:

  • The endpoint is tentatively limited to 300 requests per minute per IP address. The rate limit is subject to review at any time, and we will update according if and when a change is made such that all third-party developers can adjust their apps accordingly.
  • When the rate limit is exceeded, users can expect an HTTP 500 error with the original error in the reason text

As always, should anything change in the future, I’ll endeavor to make...

Hello everyone,

We’ve had multiple tickets submitted over the last hour and we’ve become aware that old versions of Windows Defender are incorrectly flagging EVE files as a Trojan and quarantining them. The files seem to no longer flag as problematic as of update 1.391.1678.0 (from 16.06.2023 @ 21:48:23).

We are raising the issue with Microsoft, but if you are encountering this issue, we recommend you update your Windows Defender Signatures to resolve the problem.

To do this:

  • Search in Windows search for “Virus and Threat protection”
  • Under “Virus & threat protection updates” click “Check for Updates”
  • Click “Check for Updates”

I will update this thread when new information becomes available.

I’ve also been made aware of a defect with regards to pulling information from the Pochven region which results in the error message stating that “This region cannot have a market”. This is not intended and It’s been relayed to relevant teams and I’m hoping that we’ll be able to have that tweaked as soon as we can as well.

This information pertains to the original topic of this thread which was the history endpoint.

Hello everyone,

We are aware of reports of intermittent chat connectivity issues on Tranquility. Our tech team is aware of it and an investigation has begun, however, it’s currently likely that unfortunately, this issue will persist until at least downtime.

Additional information will be shared in this post, as and when it becomes available.

Edit: Logs indicate the last chat disconnect was at 03:55 UTC.

Whilst the causes remain under investigation, this is going to be marked as resolved for now.

Hey everyone!

  • The ESI Market endpoint has been bought back online as of 1300 UTC today!
  • The change introduces a rate limit per IP address and a filter for regions that don’t have markets.
  • The endpoint is tentatively limited to 300 requests per minute per IP address. The rate limit is subject to review at any time, and we will update according if and when a change is made such that all third-party developers can adjust their apps accordingly.
  • When the rate limit is exceeded, users can expect an HTTP 500 error with the original error in the reason text.
  • If the rate limit is reached, users must wait 1 minute before trying again. There is also a limiter on the number of errors, so avoid excessive cooldown checks.
  • Additionally, requesting stats for a region with no regional market will return a 400 error.
  • The above rate limits only affect the Market ESI endpoint. All others can be used as normal for the time being.

CCP is no longer supporting the technology used to power EVE Anywhere behind the scenes. Instead, we will be further investing our energy and resources into a new and improved desktop launcher for the game, which is currently in Beta (as of Wed 12 April), bringing heightened security, tailored content, increased convenience, and a faster and more seamless launch into New Eden.

Post

EVE Anywhere, the cloud-based platform allowing EVE Online to be played in-browser, will be discontinued on Wed 24 May.

CCP will continue to support EVE Anywhere up until Wed 24 May; please note that PLEX payments through the service will no longer be accepted from Mon 22 May.

As we bid farewell to EVE Anywhere, we extend our gratitude to all the pioneering EVE pilots who have been a part of this incredible journey. Thank you for helping us deliver EVE Online in this ambitious approach, and rest assured that CCP remains open to exploring new ways for players to access EVE Online in the future.

For now, players can still explore alternative ways to access EVE Online, such as cloud gaming services like NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW. We’d also like to encourage players to join the ongoing Launcher Beta to help shape its development.

There is a small update today though!

It is currently being worked on and we’re exploring different avenues to adjust the impact of the service on our infrastructure going forward. We have generated a small form to help us with learning how everyone used to / intends to use the market history ESI endpoint when we bring it back online. If you can spare any time for some feedback on the form it would be appreciated!

It’s a good thought in the event that anything like this happens in the future, we actually considered it as well as a form of mitigation, but the system was designed to be open to all, then closed to specific IPs as required (i.e a blacklist system).

We also don’t want to punish any (new) developers trying to access the endpoints trying to develop apps that are using dynamic IP ranges that need constant updates too.
