Well friends, it’s that time again - Road Ahead! 2020 has been a challenging year for many and we want to extend a huge thank you to all of you for your support. November has a few big items to go over, so let’s dive in.

5th Anniversary
2020 has flown by (or crawled in some instances) and we find ourselves once again in November, which is a special month in Star Wars™: Galaxy of Heroes. As many of you know, it is our anniversary of launching the game. This year is particularly momentous, as we celebrate our fifth year of being live. We are truly thankful to all of the players that continue to play on the holotables with us as none of this would be possible without you. As is tradition, on 11/25, we will be sending players some “goodies'' for continuing to make this game great. Capital Games cannot thank you all enough and we look forward to supporting Galaxy of Heroes for many years to come.

Our upcoming Title Update will arrive next week and that means Galactic Challenges are almost here! Today we’ll share more details about Galactic Challenges, and the complete Update Notes will be posted with the release.

Behind the curtain, this Update really has two parts: a whole new set of tools for us to create events more efficiently, and Galactic Challenges, the first type of event built using this new toolset. This greatly expands our options to create even more events and game modes in the future. We will be closely monitoring Galactic Challenges over the next few weeks and we already have plans to expand this feature after our initial exhibition period.

We’re excited to begin sharing details about the next feature coming to the holotables in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes: Galactic Challenges.

Our main goal for this feature is to provide more activities for players each day. We hear players asking for more ways to use their growing roster of units and want more than just new events that you can master quickly or sim. Galactic Challenges are the first in a series of features (similar to how Grand Arena was the basis for Grand Arena Championships) that will work together to offer new ways to utilize your collection.

What are Galactic Challenges:
Galactic Challenges are a new type of event that will feature interesting combat puzzles which will change on a regular basis. We know you are eager for new game modes and features, but in order to do so it's important that we spend time improving the foundation of the game. Rest assured - more content is coming, but the game has evolved tremendously over the years and so have the needs and expectations for it.

Much of the gameplay experience you see in our game is largely handcrafted; while this has worked until now, it doesn’t allow us to build fast enough to satisfy the demand for content. In order to ensure there are many more exciting years to come for Galaxy of Heroes, we are taking some additional time in order to build up our tools needed to take our game to the next level.

In addition to the tools, we’re working on technology upgrades that will improve memory handling and performance, client stability, and make it easier for us to place cinematics in game.

We’ve just wrapped up on our first two Galactic Legends, Rey and Supreme Leader Kylo Ren. We’re incredibly excited to see the community begin to unlock these characters and compose interesting and powerful squads. With the end of our recent New Trilogy block, we’re moving on to a new part of the Star Wars galaxy for us.

The Mandalorian

We begin to explore the Outer Rim with a few of our favorite characters from The Mandalorian making their appearance: Greef Karga and Cara Dune.

Welcome to another State of the Galaxy! Galactic Legends Rey and Kylo Ren are landing later this month so we want to share some final insights into the development of these characters and their events.

Galactic Legends are a new type of character and we start them off with the culmination of the new trilogy - the Force dyad of Rey and Kylo Ren. Many of our strongest characters are released in quick events as bursts of excitement, however we also want to diversify our event experiences. By slowly revealing the requirements and leaving the events open (once you’ve met the requirements), these events serve as a long-term goal for veteran players to work towards.

Welcome to the State of the Galaxy for February - while this one is coming mid-month, the next installment should return us to a more regular schedule.

A couple things we’d like to cover in this month’s State of the Galaxy:

Galactic Legends Event Structure
We’ve got a few details we’d like to share about the new Galactic Legends Event Structure. We’ll bring these to you regularly as we continue to develop and refine the design. First off, this event will require a new kind of event ticket, which will be earned via existing game modes. These tickets will become earnable once a player has met the prerequisites and unlocked the event. We are still working out the specifics of where the tickets will be earned, but we expect players to be able to earn these tickets every day.

We’ve been monitoring the recent release (1/26) and it appears that all players that were previously unable to load the game can now re-enter. We’re in the process of identifying those accounts specifically and determining next steps of a make good for those players. This process requires some research and analysis on our part, so please bear with us as we complete our due diligence. Thank you everyone for your patience as we worked through the issue.

The year is 2020 and we have another exciting year of Galaxy of Heroes planned for you! We’re back from the holidays and want to briefly discuss Galactic Legends, some additional content in the next two months, and address some persistent tech problems.

Galactic Legends

Shortly before the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, we unveiled a new type of character: the Galactic Legend. We know you’ve been asking when, where, what, and how, so we’re going to start pulling back the curtain.

Galactic Legends will be both a new type of character and a new type of event with a very different structure than our previous entries. Over the next two months we will be gradually revealing the units required to activate the event. In March, the last batch of requirements will be revealed and later that month the events will become playable. One more thing to mention is that Galactic Legends will be 7* unlocks.
