They messed up a lot of older skins in this way recently, including ruining how I designed my Gear Specialist Maya. The hair seems to be layered on top of whatever hat/headgear the skins have.

Hi u/Aoibhell! This will be fixed in a future update! It should only affect the first match after you launch Fortnite and the following matches should flush you into the started island as you would expect. Sorry about this!
Hey u/pinballmanfan! FPS will cap when the device reaches a certain temperature, or the battery is low. This may be what is causing your phone to lock at 55 FPS.
