So no fixes for co-op split screen crashes/bugs? There is a game breaking bug right now where bombs are not usable in multi-player. It instantly crashes the game. As well this happens when player 2 enters the volcano on Ginger Island before player 1. Instant crash. Also hats on cats cause memory leaks. update: I've been informed this is now fixed :)
the bombs and the cat hat have already been fixed on consoles. There are more console patches incoming, this patch is for PC & mobile
Hey guys, I have a question:
"## Gameplay fixes
- Fixed Krobus' shop not accessible on Fridays for Japanese players."
Is someone a programmer and can tell me what happened there?
I thought the translation is just a layer on top of game mechanics, how can it happen that (as stated in the patch notes) only Japanese players are affected by this?
Thanks in advance.
What happened, is that in the Japanese translation, there's a unicode "ā¦" character that is used. (If you highlight over that character you will see it's a single character, not three separate dots). Since Krobus is "silent" on friday, he says "..." (three dots), but in Japanese this got changed from three dots to the single unicode character. If an NPC says only a single character in a dialogue in Stardew, it skips the dialogue entirely. I don't remember why it is this way, but changing it could be risky. So the fix was just to replace the single character with 3 actual dots in the Japanese translation.
I love this
I saw the post about "lesbo" in "lesbos" getting censored (which is what CA replied to, iirc) and I'm just baffled as to what's even bad about the word š
I don't choose which words are censored, it's platform-specific. Regardless, I did not intend for user input to be filtered (except on platforms which require it)
Is this some kind of optional nintendo censorship that got accidentally included? Or how else can a bug like this occur?
There are many different platform versions of Stardew Valley that are built from the same codebase. One of those platforms requires a profanity filter. It accidentally got applied to all platforms.
It's a bug that will be fixed but for now, you can remove it by using the right thumbstick to position the cursor over the item, and then press the Y button
It's a bug that will be fixed but there is still an (annoying) way to do it until then. Use the right thumbstick to move the cursor over the item you want to grab, and the press Y
it was an accident and will be removed in an upcoming patch
Can you share a screenshot of what this looks like?
Sorry about that, that was not intentional, and will be fixed in an upcoming patch.
that will be fixed in an upcoming patch
