Curious capsuleers,

Over the last several months, the race has been on amongst the empires to be the first to gain access to Stellar Transmuter technology by fighting for control over the Turnur, Egmar, and Vard systems and building upon this coveted technology.

However, concerns grow as the research into the Stellar Transmuters begins to have some unforeseen implications. As covered in the latest episode of the Scope, the Turnur system's star appears to have been destabilized beyond recovery by the activity of the Prototype Stellar Transmuter placed in orbit by the Amarr Empire. Stellar radiation emitted by the star has been fluctuating at ever shorter intervals, seemingly heading towards an imminent cres...

Fantastic capsuleers!

EVE Vegas was this weekend, and with just over 200 official attendants it’s one of the largest player meets in North America. We were happy to attend and share with players a little bit of what we’ve been up to since Fanfest, and what they can expect with the Uprising expansion just around the corner in November.

We’ve been focusing on five pillars of gameplay. Firstly, giving players tools to create stronger organizations. We have also been working with players and the CSM to prioritize dozens of Quality of Life changes for all types of players, some of which you have seen, like changes to the SMA and COSMOS agents.

Next is more forward-looking, specifically what the future of warfare looks like, and creating systems and tools that help you all blow one another up. Enriching player identity through visuals like corporation and alliance emblems on ships has been another focus, allowing you and your friends to proudly display your space flag...

Combative capsuleers,

The Uprising expansion – a major new narrative-driven update for EVE Online – is coming in November and brings with it the biggest overhaul to Factional Warfare that New Eden has ever seen. The arrival of Frontlines will be a big change to how the empires' militias compete for control of the warzones on Tranquility.

To encourage participation during the testing period on Singularity and thereby obtain as much valuable feedback as possible on this new feature we are hosting a Frontlines Wargame on the Singularity test server with some cool rewards to be granted on Tranquility for individual capsuleers and player corporations who distinguish themselves!

The wargame will commence at 14:00 UTC on 26 October when Singularity becomes accessible to players after the initial state of the Amarr/Minmatar warzone on Singularity is set up and it will conclude at 14:00 UTC on 4 November when Singularity will be taken offline and analysi...

Courageous capsuleers,

As EVE’s major new narrative-driven expansion Uprising approaches, you can start gearing up for the big day by testing the Frontlines and Advantage systems on the Singularity test server now!

Systems in a FW warzone can have different operational states which are designated as follows:

  • Frontline - adjacent to an enemy-controlled star system, the absolute heart of the battle, and the highest level of reward!
  • Command Operations - adjacent to a Frontline system, vital for strategic supremacy with standard LP rewards.
  • Rearguard - when none of the above apply, a relative safe zone in the maelstrom.

The operational state of the FW system will determine its ...

Glorified Kybernauts,

Two years ago, following months of ceaseless conflict between the tenuously united Empires under EDENCOM, the resurfaced Triglavian Collective, and innumerable capsuleers or Kybernauts aiding both sides, the campaign of Liminal Proving heralded by Zorya Triglav came to a close.

As a 27th system processed into Final Liminality, the Collective evoked Totality from the transmuted stars, altering spacetime between them to bridge the boundary between New Eden and Abyssal Deadspace. Weaving the systems together with conduit gates, each Clade soon claimed their Krai – and the leviathan conduit-loop construct known as the Domain of Pochven was defined.

Today, Kybernauts across New Eden celebrate the second anniversary of the formation of Pochven on Totality Day, a capsuleer holiday started by those who aided the...

Decisive capsuleers,

Tensions continue to mount as the empires fight over the legacy of the Triglavian Collective’s invasion of New Eden. The race is on to gain understanding and advantages with the potential to shift the balance of power and catapult New Eden toward new & unprecedented frontiers. Not only those involved in Factional Warfare, but all capsuleers are called upon to take part – from combat pilots to explorers, industrialists, and more. This is your moment to make a difference!

In recent months, each of the empires have sounded a clear call to action, exhorting their respective militias’ capsuleers to assist in capturing and holding territory key to their ongoing efforts. The Amarr and Minmatar are currently pursuing Triglavian Stellar Transmuter technology, with the Caldari and Gallente focusing their attention on separate unidentified tech initially recovered by EDENCOM from a hidden Triglavian installation on the surface of Ath...

Tenacious Capsuleers,

As EVE edges ever closer to the Uprising expansion’s full release, various teams around CCP are working on continual investment into the underlying tech of New Eden. This commitment, known as EVE Evolved, ensures that EVE Online remains at the forefront of visual and sensory fidelity for now and into the future.

Furthering that story, another EVE Evolved release is now available on the Singularity test server. This time, there is a focus on audio and tech improvements, alongside even more upgrades to Photon UI.

Bass-Blasting Capsuleers,

We are excited to announce that the audio feature originally demoed at Fanfest is being released in October and is already available for testing on Singularity! Sound prioritization, previously known as "audio culling”, drastically reduces CPU usage from the audio system during large fights. Not only does sound prioritization save on the CPU, but it also significantly improves the overall sound experience of EVE Online by intelligently choosing the most important sounds to play, along with limiting the overall number of sounds allowed to be played at once. That means more nuance, clarity, and realism across New Eden’s soundscape.

We know that a common fleet doctrine suggests that players disable audio when going into a large fleet fight. We can speculate that this has always been both because of how much CPU audio takes in large fights, as well as the cacophony of sounds tha...
