The Caldari State and their loyalist capsuleers have achieved this historic milestone through a mastery of stellar transmuter technology and acquiring the necessary materials from dangerous areas of space. The Caldari have become the first - and so far only - empire to successfully construct an interstellar shipcaster, . Today marks the roll out of new visual upgrades that enhance the beauty of EVE Online. Now you’ll witness unlimited shadows throughout New Eden. Where shadows used to be limited to 16 in busy scenes - now there are no restrictions, and they’ll look much clearer and sharper. You expect a shadow? You’ll see a shadow.

How the client implements the graphical settings for shadows has also been reworked. Shadows will now always be rendered at all settings other than ‘disabled’, with the filtering of shadows being adjusted to allow a balance between quality and performance. It has come to our attention that through an unintended effect of using Gas Harvesters on ship wrecks, massive quantities of a resource which should be unobtainable through normal gameplay can be generated. Its effects when extracted and used in massive quantities can be felt throughout the entire community. 

We have received reports of these gas clouds appearing in significant quantities in systems where a large number of ships have been destroyed. The resource in question is a form of gas which goes by the name of Fullerite C0-P1UM. Any extraction of this gas or in other words known to capsuleers as “huffing” can lead to the pilots in question becoming easily manipulated and/or extremely gullible.

There is an age-old question facing all capsuleers: If you replace your spaceship one spare part at a time, when is the ship completely new and no longer the original?

That’s where we find ourselves now with Tranquility hardware. Nothing remains of Tranquility Tech III - the current cluster is entirely Tranquility Tech IV.

The effort to make New Eden a more engaging place with a level of detail that takes you deeper is always ongoing. Audio is a major part of that effort, both setting the tone and atmosphere of EVE, and giving players critical cues that can inform their strategic approach. With that in mind, we invite all pilots to join a mass audio test focused on turret movement and impact sounds and help make EVE Online an even better experience.

The test will take place on the Singularity server. To take part in the scheduled fleet fight at 17:00 UTC Monday, 6 March, gather in the FD-MLJ system.

Those joining the test are encouraged to engage in fleet fights to allow for monitoring of performance issues and crashes, while pooling feedback on the audio experience of large-scale battle.
