Social capsuleers,

EVE’s ‘Recruit a Friend’ program has long been a great way to invite your friends to play EVE together, but often you make new friends in space - so why miss out on recruitment rewards?

Following popular demand from corporations and alliances, it has now been made possible to recruit an existing account and still be eligible for rewards defined by the Recruitment Program rules. And you can be sure the rewards are well worth the effort of getting your friends involved in EVE!

How does it work?

There are rewards for the recruite...

Intrepid capsuleers!

The overview window is the most important tool at your disposal in EVE Online. It's used for orientation, traveling, fighting, resource gathering... everything you do in space. Customizing the overview to suit a capsuleer’s needs is important but can be daunting for new players. We are therefore changing the default overview for new players to make it more useful and to make the transition to using custom overview packs easier. This will be achieved by making new capsuleers familiar with the more advanced use of the overview features employed by corporations and alliances they might end up joining.

The new default overview is available now on the Singularity test server. We invite you to share your feedback on the ...

Security Conscious Capsuleers,

As part of the Uprising expansion, we are making some important changes that will largely affect players in Highsec. The goal of these designs is to address the following issues:

  • Griefing of new players and low value targets
  • Risk vs Reward dynamic of Abyssal Deadspace filaments
  • Shortage of legitimate player targets in high security space

To achieve these goals, we’ll be introducing the following new restrictions and limitations:

  • Limit tethering for players with low security status in Highsec
  • Docking restrictions for outlaws in high security space
  • Changing the security settings for Alpha accounts and removing the option to disable safety (“Safety red”)
  • Updated rulesets for Abyssal Deadspace filament activation

Griefing versus Ganking

Concerned capsuleers,

Last week, scientists who had been monitoring the progress of the Imperial Prototype Stellar Transmuter in the Turnur system raised the alarm that the star would reach a "terminal phase" around 17:00 New Eden Standard Time on 2 November, as covered in this news article and in the most recent episode of The Scope.

Planetary industry workers on Turnur I were evacuated from the planet and capsuleers were warned to proceed with caution upon entering the system, particularly around the projected “termin...

Hotshot capsuleers,

The Uprising expansion, officially landing 8 November, will unleash 16 new ships into New Eden! These new ships let capsuleers get behind the controls of some powerful new technology.

In recent weeks, pilots across the star cluster have already been collecting blueprints and uncovering new frigates and battlecruisers as part of Empire Frontiers, following the Triglavian Collective’s invasion.

Now, however, eight additional new ships for a total of 16 are due to be made available across New Eden, with each empire producing its own fresh frigate, battlecruiser, destroyer, and dreadnought variant. The result of countless hours of careful work making sure t...

Curious capsuleers,

Over the last several months, the race has been on amongst the empires to be the first to gain access to Stellar Transmuter technology by fighting for control over the Turnur, Egmar, and Vard systems and building upon this coveted technology.

However, concerns grow as the research into the Stellar Transmuters begins to have some unforeseen implications. As covered in the latest episode of the Scope, the Turnur system's star appears to have been destabilized beyond recovery by the activity of the Prototype Stellar Transmuter placed in orbit by the Amarr Empire. Stellar radiation emitted by the star has been fluctuating at ever shorter intervals, seemingly heading towards an imminent cres...

Fantastic capsuleers!

EVE Vegas was this weekend, and with just over 200 official attendants it’s one of the largest player meets in North America. We were happy to attend and share with players a little bit of what we’ve been up to since Fanfest, and what they can expect with the Uprising expansion just around the corner in November.

We’ve been focusing on five pillars of gameplay. Firstly, giving players tools to create stronger organizations. We have also been working with players and the CSM to prioritize dozens of Quality of Life changes for all types of players, some of which you have seen, like changes to the SMA and COSMOS agents.

Next is more forward-looking, specifically what the future of warfare looks like, and creating systems and tools that help you all blow one another up. Enriching player identity through visuals like corporation and alliance emblems on ships has been another focus, allowing you and your friends to proudly display your space flag...
