The issue with this, and I have answered this before. Then becomes what skill portion is what determines someone is "good" because W/R can be manipulated VERY easily, if in div or not etc etc, Damage output? K/d ratio? etc etc....

And then you grab lets say random 24 players, "balance them by skill" then the system has to balance tiers and classes and run the same rules it has now.

No offense, I don't program MM, nor do I program the game in general, but I have had this broken down to me what MM does to get teams put together (no I can't share them all) however, it is quite extensive.

At the end of the day, SBMM will not occur.

I would go over all the reason AGAIN, why we will not or do not want to institute it right now, but at this point, we're just going in circles. People should worry less about writing doctorates and doing research into how MM works or the stats of the millions of players that play WoWs and how the...

I can agree with that, except the thing is, far more people do not care about stats than do TBH. I have found that people that do care about those stats, tend to also be more vocal about it, so it seems a bigger problem than it actually is.

But see, I would say the issue isn't the mod it is the PLAYERS use of the mod.

When I played WoT I used XVM to figure out what players I need to focus!

I do the same exact thing when I am in a div with someone that has MMM, I literally ask, "who is the biggest threat" and I focus accordingly.

It is a TOOL, the problem is, some people do not realize how to or want to use it as a tool.

I am not fighting you at all, but to tell someone that sees the data, sees the way MM works and has access to far more data than everyone here in the forums (my fellow WG staff excluded of course) I am and SHOULD be countering what you're saying if it is untrue.

The reality is, I have been playing this game since the second week of Alpha testing.... WELL before I started working for WG, furthermore, I have always looked at things a bit farther in depth than some might. You are more than free to gather data all you like, and present it as you like.

My argument was simple, someone said that perception is reality. That is NOT a true statement. Someones personal perception can be come someones personal reality because they will believe it as true. There are differences there.

As someone has stated before VERY correctly MM is NOT random, because there are rules that it is required to follow.

Or, people could just stop being so wrapped up in everyones stats and just play the game?

Let me ask this question. How do you think that I got to a W/R that I have?

It is arguably and supposedly on the high end.... DO I care about it? NOPE, I literally have never focused my statistics as a metric for me.... I just play the game, I learn about game mechanics and I try to support my TEAM as much as I possible can.

If I lose, I lose, if I win, YAY! I win....

The amount of blow outs that I have had over the course of 14000 battles (yes I know my stats say 12500+/- it doesn't count test ship battles) has obviously been not that common considering my W/R to be a serious problem.

And I don't say all this to be dismissive of the fact that blow outs occur for some... but what I DO see is players literally giving up because they see the stats of players in MMM. So as a result some players are literally MAKING th...

Also let me say this.

AT NO TIME IS IT OKAY TO TELL SOMEONE TO KILL THEMSELVES, TO JOKE ABOUT IT OR TO MAKE ANY INSINUATION!

And if you see this in game, you send me replays and/or screen shots and I will do my best to ensure that this person will be set straight.

I HAVE ZERO tolerance for language or insinuation of such.

So you're saying teamwork is OP? If I go into a match with a div, it is because I WANT to play with my friends and have fun and yes win. Which is why Div exist.

A player shouldn't be penalized with longer queues to get matched up with similar skill level players (that might not even be in queue) just because they decide to div up and play.

So your perception is something is seriously wrong when people move on from a 5 year old game? Considering our numbers of players are actually INCREASING, does this mean my perception that MORE people are joining and playing than are leaving not correct? We look at data holistically, we do not pick and chose.

Sorry, but hard data WILL override perception any day. Though we do take into account feedback and I know that some will not believe this, when we see feedback about a specific topic, if it comes up repeatedly this makes us look at the data to see IF perception is reality.

Skill based MM will leave people in LONG queue times based off the separation of "good players" and bad" and make MM be bogged down with having to try to match players up based on skill.

The entire reason for RANDOM battles is to be more RANDOM. As is the MM overall is going to stay what it is. And our goal is to make MM work as efficiently and quickly...

Folks,

This conversation has occurred many times. MM is RANDOM when matching players up, with the exception of ship class and tiers etc.

At this time there will be NO skill based or stat based MM, because it will cause significantly more problems than most players realize.

If you spend less time conducting a dissertation or case study on the statistics of the players in your battles and spend more energy on just playing a match, you probably will not have as much stress when it comes to playing World of Warships.

If the blow outs were such a considerable issue across the literally TENS of THOUSANDS of battles that occur every day we would see that in the data that we pull regularly.

At the end of the day a couple things to note,

If you are going to post stats pages please black out the names (as per our forum rules).
