Oh I'm not saying you're wrong.

But I also understand that things can always change in the gaming environment. And that is NOT just World of Warships. And we have in the past changed stuff after announcement from direct community feedback.

I mean this is my job, I do not mind responding to pitch forks and torches, because most of the time, the stuff that people freak out about is not actually as bad as they make it seem.

Except she's NOT free and we have said that she is NOT free, first of all.

And again, I will point back to the fact, that you can't exactly judge a ship directly off just her HP. If you have not played her, you can't say she is not a good ship particularly. I have stated several times in multiple topics and I am not the only one, several people that have player her have said the same thing. She is actually a VERY good ship.

I mean they should have the ability to tank some damage, I don't know about "massive amounts" because everything fired at your ship will deal damage in a different way. And my point is that a tier VIII, for balance reasons, these changes occurred to her, as a result of data pulled from the testing done to her.

You are correct in your summation of potential damage, HOWEVER, as a BB potential damage is VERY important because that means you were a target that was tanking for your team, you weren't making cruisers and DD's be the ones that were getting shot at as you have a RP and many of them do not.

In other words, if I am in a BB all the way in the back and never get shot at, and all my cruisers and DDs die as a result, you didn't help your team as much as may think you have. Potential damage and damage output TOGETHER is a huge factor in which a ship or player can gage whether they did their job. If I have 3 million potential in a ship that players say "has horrible HP and armor" and I survived and dealt quite a bit of damage, then it is a VERY valid metric.

Furthermore, I played A LOT of battles in Oden in all iterations, I assure you, her HP being lowered was NOT as significant as everyone thinks.

As asked above, to me, it would depend on where you are in the grind? And honestly, even that is not necessarily true. Because 0.9.5 doesn't drop for a month, so you have time to play that line and go up s high as you can before the split and re-evaluate.

I would hold onto your FXP and just play the line, the other reason too, is you'll gain MORE FXP by doing so.

Just my 2 doubloons...

Aloha,

Something to remember, this IS just a game. People are going to rant and be angry when you don't play the game as they see is correct.

The fact you admit you are still learning is a HUGE step forward. And you are not "ruining" someones game by playing. Though it was a good gesture perhaps that you humbled yourself and PM'd that player to apologize, people that make comments like that typically will not be receptive to that type of message. I am not saying to not do so, but this is just a truth when it comes to online gaming.

If you continue to learn and continue to put your best effort forward, you're doing what you should be doing. EVERYONE, no matter the skill level is always learning and no matter how good a player is, there is typically always a better player out there. There is no such thing as a "Zero defect player"

So just keep doing what you're doing and try to ignore any negativity you might see in chat,...

Aloha,

It is just XP, not base XP in ALL game modes (except training room of course)

And it is all game modes. Keep in mind this is a raffle pulled from all participants.

HP is NOT the only metric that make for viable ship. Armor is taken into account, if I am able to tank 2 million+ on the regular in Odin with the HP we decided to leave her with, I'd say that her HP pool is just fine.

We take into account every aspect of a ship when balancing them and the values we place on those ships reflect that.

All of our flags are artists renditions because we can't always legally use the actual copies. This is not new.

Overperforming doesn't just apply to guns....

Her AP fuse timing was adjusted earlier, because of the guns overperforming and her HP was reduced as a result as well.

I will tell you my first battle in her, I was uptiered to tier X and at the end of the battle with the original HP pool had over 3.2 million potential damage and that was very common.... for a ship like that that is DEFINITELY over performing, even after the adjustment I was doing very well still.

Well, no disrespect to ANY of our CCs but comments made on a ship when it was to be truthfully honest, upon initial release, quite an over performer, to the last iteration I played where I do/did quite well in it.

To be truthfully honest, I had no problems even when uptiered in her. The thing is, ships like Spee, Scharn, Odin in game are mean't to be cruiser eaters, not necessarily meant for BB->BB fighters. And in that role all three perform very well.

People will have their opinions, either way, I have been and am excited for her to be released!
