Copy/pasting from elsewhere in the thread, but I hate seeing uninformed comments going after my colleagues.

You're welcome to your opinion on the content offered by Manked in his GameJam proposals for PvP stuff, but Mod Manked is much more than just 'PvP creator pushing an agenda'. His work on content like Scurrius, bringing PvM to the masses - among other things - was fantastic.

I'd encourage everybody to separate content from JMods. Not liking content is absolutely fine, imagining scenarios and creating targets for scorn isn't. IMO.

Hard no to everything from Mod Manked.

So far all the dude has done is add havens for bots and now he wants to remove quest requirements, remove item level requirements and add some almost guaranteed absurd prayer book (that's also yet another thing that functions differently in/out of the wilderness) which again, will have no/minimal requirements.

One day jagex will finally learn that hiring some random pvp creator does nothing but allow them to push their own agenda, not push for what's best for the game as a whole.

Also here we go again vls part 2. Chivalry changes failed the recent poll, failed another poll back in 2022, yet here he is still trying to force the change into the game.

Also trying to justify adding 1 def perilous moons gear by saying it's too expensive to repair??? What kind of correlation does that have to making it 1 def?? Yes its expensive at level 1 smithing.... so level up your smithing or sell the broken piece back to the ge, ...

That certainly wasn't my intention, I was sorting by 'new' and it was a very quick reply to offer the reassurance the player wanted and answer specific questions they asked.

Whilst Jagex are listed as a 'Partner' of EAC on the EAC website, EAC isn't present within the Jagex Launcher or any Old School RuneScape client.

It's also worth noting that EAC have said that any exploit isn't from their end: https://twitter.com/TeddyEAC/status/1769725032047972566

If you're missing context, it's all regarding cheating/exploits in Apex Legends. They just postponed their Finals. That's about all I know.

So, no, no need to be concerned. Yes, the client is safe.

It says it in the statement. Give it a read.

That was fun! I'll be back on again at 10pm GMT

Post

Merry Christmas!

Later today, at 5pm GMT and then again at 10pm GMT, I'll be on World 342 at the GE doing the transmog thing, spawning some holiday items, and then heading to somewhere like Castle Wars or Clan Wars.

I love Christmas but I know this time of year isn't for everybody and a lot of people can feel lonely, so I'd love to see as many of you there as possible if you don't mind a bit of XP waste.

Catch you in a bit!

I don't think you're playing OSRS, I think you're playing RS(3)

So f**king weird to me that there's actually a significant number of people with the "NOOO I DONT WANT TO REMAX" mentality. Why did you max in the first place? I thought you liked number go up?

Edit: To clarify, I'm obviously not saying every single person above 2.1k who voted no did it for this reason lol. I think it's a reasonable assumption that the larger percentage relative to other tiers is because of this though.

I don't think that's a reasonable assumption. There are more 2.1k+ Yes voters than No voters after all. I think there's a myriad of reasons why a player would vote No, and all should be respected:

  • They might have liked Sailing but weren't convinced of the design at the time
  • They might dislike Sailing generally, or would have preferred another skill
  • They may have disliked how Sailing 'won' versus the other two skills
  • They may not believe that Old School needs another skill
  • They may not trust the team to deliver a skill to a high quality, considering it has not been done before
  • They may consider the potential for something as vast and impactful as a new skill and the negative effects it might bring
  • They may have disliked how Sailing was polled alongside other content

Obviously I'm not trying to turn anybody against Sailing, but I really dislike how No voters (and Yes voters too, I suppose) are attacked...

Good spot, thanks for sharing! We've submitted a ticket asking for it to be fixed.

A bit about it, if anybody is interested.

A long while back we launched play.runescape.com which is a bit of a 'are you looking for RS or OSRS?' page, and it's the default experience for anybody landing on runescape.com for the very first time (basically cookie-less visitors), usually it's people who played a long time ago searching for, say, 'RuneScape' but wanting to find OSRS. From there they can navigate to the Old School version (FWIW: A/B testing has confrmed it is a much superior flow versus how it used to be).

The problem here is that both RS and OSRS versions of the pages are sharing the same Membership website component, meaning its inaccurate for us. We'll get that changed.

I'm really looking forward to fleshing out the content we've pitched here, I think it could warrant a Summit all of its own. Huge update!

Would love to hear more from Jagex what the issues with developing leagues are

It's not just a copy/paste re-run, we go into a good amount of detail in terms of the new changes here: https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/a=13/leagues-iv-trailblazer-reloaded?oldschool=1

On August 19th, at the Summer Summit, get a first look at Old School's roadmap for the rest of the year and into early 2024!

And I just wanted to extend a huge thanks to TheSkulled for his work on the trailer!
