Thank you to everyone who participated in our Alpha and Closed Beta tests! These were huge moments for New World and we are so appreciative of the many players jumping in to check out the game for themselves. We watched as you battled, crafted, dueled, and explored your way across the vast and dangerous landscape of Aeternum and took all of the feedback and learnings we were able to get from these tests and got back to work. Now is the time to lift the curtain again and invite players back to the wilds of New World. Open Beta begins on September 9th!

We’re doing things a little differently this time around. With Open Beta there will be no Steam keys to redeem. Instead we are using a new feature called Steam Playtest. You will be able to request access on Steam beginning on September 8 at 7:00AM PT (2:00PM UTC). All you have to do is:

I definitely hear you on this. Harassment, hate speech, and toxicity are all against our Code of Conduct and I agree that we haven’t been doing a great job enforcing that. While Closed Beta has also been a test for our moderation team, I promise you that we’ll take a harder look at our moderation efforts in game and on our various platforms.

We support companies that are intended to be safe spaces but we do not support companies that condone practices that are against our code of conduct or violate our terms of service. As long as your company doesn’t violate either of these, you should be fine.
