First off, we have to say a huge thank you to all those sailors who've taken to the seas and made Sea of Thieves a heartwarming Steam success story since our launch here in June 2020!



Now we're looking towards the next horizon: getting some wind in our sails for this year's Steam Awards! Special Event-Themed Cosmetics up for Grabs in Feast of Bounty!

At a time of year when people from distant lands traditionally give thanks, the Bilge Rats wish to celebrate the plenty that the Sea of Thieves has to offer! In this Event, come together with your fellow pirates for a cornucopia of activities – first to prepare for the feast, then to celebrate it heartily. Special Event-themed cosmetics and seasonal Renown are up for grabs!

As a feast of this magnitude requires suitable planning, the Event is split into two phases: Preparation and Celebration. The Preparation phase begins on November 22nd, with pirates completing Preparation Challenges such as cooking meat and collecting the Feast of Bounty Flag to ready themselves for the upcoming revelry.

Following last night's reports of gold and reputation not being received when selling loot, the team have investigated and some data has proved unrecoverable.

All players who were logged into Sea of Thieves between 6:50pm - 10:40pm GMT on Nov 21st will receive 50k gold and 30 Doubloons as compensation.

Gold and Doubloons will automatically appear next time eligible players log into Sea of Thieves.

Please allow 72 hours for this to be added to your account. If you have not received the expected amounts in this time, please contact our Support Team for assistance: https://support.seaofthieves.com/

Dive into the Depths in Sea of Thieves Season Four

As the leaves change and we leave summer behind, Sea of Thieves also enters a new Season with the arrival of Season Four. In addition to new Events, Seasonal rewards and an overhaul to our Trials and Deeds system, Season Four fully unveils the Sunken Kingdom – previously only explorable via the Tall Tales brought in with Season Three, now filled with new treasures to claim and secrets to uncover. The Sea of Thieves servers are back online, so feel free to return to the seas...or beneath them!

The Sea of Thieves servers are now offline so that the Sirens can put the finishing debris on their Shrines.

We'll let you know when the seas are available for you to explore, but please note that there will be an update to download before you can do so.


The Sea of Thieves servers will be offline from approximately 10am BST tomorrow, Thursday 23rd, so that the path to the Sunken Kingdom can be opened, and a new Season can begin.

Following investigations into Monday's reports of gold and reputation not received when selling loot, some data has proved unrecoverable. Players who sail the Sea of Thieves between Tuesday 4th August and Tuesday 17th August 10am BST will receive 50k gold and 30 Doubloons as compensation.

Please allow 72 hours from the time of playing for this to be applied to your account. We will also be following up on this with an official Forum post detailing the issues encountered and how they will be mitigated in future.
