Yeah, I never had more faith in a team or more fun watching than 2016 tsm. I’ve been watching since the first season and that’s by far my favorite team too.

Was a shame they flamed out so hard internationally that year.

That team looked poised to absolutely take names with the form they had domestically.

Still a great year though. Also biased as it was my first LCS split LOL

edit: Here is the video

Don't quote me because I can't be 100% sure but I'm extremely confident the team that produces Drive also produced this series.

Both are bangers as it turns out.

Game is great, casting is objectively bad in the game LOL

Least the passion of the pick and how wild and fun that game was has been the most enduring parts of that series.

MarkZ was robbed of his best casting partner when Pastrytime left. They were the perfect duo for each other and had great synergy that neither had when paired with someone else.

Little late to this thread but appreciate the sentiment, one of the hardest things about being moved away from casting was losing all the synergy Mark and I had built up as a duo.

There's something so fun about casting with that muppet. He matched the lightness in energy I used a lot in the latter part of my career but he knew when to weave in stats, storytelling and deliver in big moments as well.

Mark is great in content and as an analyst, but I still think he's a criminally underrated colour caster too.

Thankfully I still get to work with Mark every week, but instead of casting I'm helping bring the outer wilds of his brain to life in content xD

Correct! The collection list also matches the lol website which was taken as the most 'official' document.

Source: Me, I wrote this episode with Mark!

I'm not going to lie, it took a long time for MarkZ to win me over, but Catching Up With Doublelift finally did it. This is definitely the best of the "non-analysis" content LCS is putting out.

We did it 🙏

A lot of memes with a healthy dose of storytelling.

We'll miss him, but he'll be a genuinely great game designer.

Phreak is one of the GOATs, glad he's leaving on a high note.

And aren't you the OG Aussie import for the LCS? Granted it wasn't as a player but it still counts, right?

Meant Oceanic not Aussie, I did in-fact forget Lawrence was a kiwi LOL

Just carrying on the tradition of claiming NZs stars for ourselves xD

And yes I always made that joke, but technically it's correct which is my favourite kind!

Yeah, Lost isn't ever going to be playing for the main roster but he's certainly better than most academy ADC's and if their goal is to have a competent scrim roster to play against internally, the academy roster makes full sense. I'm also more hopeful for Fakegod in this environment, though I doubt he'll excel too much further considering how long he has been around.

Maybe I'm just at maximum copium at this point but I'm a big fan of Lost and him being in the C9 hyperbolic time chamber gives me hope for his future.

I think his ceiling is really high, but sadly he's never really proved it at the LCS level and maybe never will.

I'll always cheer for Lawrence though. He's the OG Aussie import for the LCS.

Thanks for POGGING with us this whole time.

The POGGING will continue until the POGS improve.

But it's people like you that make waking up each day to POG and make the LCS a POGGIER place that much more worthwhile.

Poggie woggie my friend.

I'm not sure they need more PBPs at the moment but it's certainly something I wouldn't say no to an opportunity to cast again.

Game is REALLY sweet.

Just gonna hijack this to say thank you. Way back in 2013, the very first pro game I watched of League was GSG vs CJ Entus NLB Winter finals, game 5, with the legendary jungle/push Heimer comp. Your excitement during that game convinced me to download the game in the first place, and check out some other pro scenes. As you can see, I'm still here. Regardless of where you end up, I wish you the best, and hope you find a way to stay involved in the community.

Glad to hear it!

This is also not a unique story, so I'm glad that Heimer game found as many people as it did.

My only LCS final on record, but it sure was a banger.

Might be unpopular opinion but Pastry is one of my favorite PBP casters. His delivery might not be as 100% clean as it could be but the hype he brought to some of my favorite competitive moments is overshadowed by only a select few.

My favorite moment of his has to be the final 15 seconds of game 5 of WE vs C9 at worlds 2017 Quarterfinals.

Link: https://youtu.be/wLnF6QM9r94?t=2038

"But Mystic, the champion, the hero, of WE will hold on! They weather a brutal storm, and will [?] push themselves to a historic semifinals!"

That line in particular never fails to give me chills and I find myself rewatching that specific clip every now and then just for the hype.

I'm actually terrible at remembering my calls but someone on Twitter (might've been you tbh) brought this one that I'd forgotten to my attention and it's genuinely one of the closers I'm most proud of.

The wildest thing was I was racking my brains for what on earth I'd say if C9 pulled off the historic upset for the whole series that I almost forgot to think about a line for the other team so I think this one I thought of almost right before the game ending play.

Brain works good sometimes I guess xD

MZ+PT casts will be missed.

Same tbh.

Mark was one of my favourite people to cast with and I've cast with a LOT of different people over the years. I think probably more than anyone else actually, certainly at international.
