Why did Danny get into such a mode? Not trying to diss him or anything, but I don't remember the community heavily flaming him.

He's an 18 year old kid in a job with high pressure and high scrutiny that he's been in for less than a year and a half after just finishing high school.

Being in the spotlight is mentally taxing enough, now imagine you're the same person you were at 18 and it seems fairly straightforward what the reasons might be.

For all I care though, I just want him to take his time and be ready to play again. It's a shame he might not play at Worlds this year, but it'd be even worse to never see a player this obviously talented play again.

You're goated pastry. Always see you in these threads where you no doubt see some select people dumping on you/your friends and coworkers. Yet despite all of that, you continue to have amazing interviews, casts, and even content production for the LCS. You always give off a strong and charismatic vibe during your screentime, thank you pastry!

- Compared to other play-by-plays I hear less ability names mentioned

- Compared to other pbp I feel a lack of energy or maybe excitement?

Out of my head I can think of two great positive examples when it comes to the energy aspect:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlzVMAsUV8o

Would love to hear more of that. Sorry for my previous comment. You are right with the way I phrased it.

I can defs be a bit inconsistent with energy and I'm aware of that but I believe I've gotten a lot better at that, my last Bo5 in the LCS esp I was very happy with the range I hit as I've certainly overcorrected and been too excited at times as well.

Ability names is an interesting callout, I didn't know that was something people even liked hearing more of. Often I'll hit ultis, but I used to try and hit too many names and it would clutter my casting and I'm already hard to understand at the best of times when talking quickly.

Not unreasonable pieces of feedback though, I'll take 'em with me into Worlds this year.

Here we go. It's the annual Praise a caster while insulting the others thread

Every year I wonder if maybe this time it'll be different and then next year I wonder the same.

At least we can trust C9 to make it out of groups.

I don't wanna badmouth him but he has so many things that need improvement compared to a lot of other casters. Really not a fan of his casting.

I feel like posting a vague obviously negative open ended comment and following up with "[But] I don't wanna badmouth him..." is basically you doing exactly that.

Happy to field your constructive criticism here or in a DM. We all know we're not perfect.

Also important to note that not enjoying someone's casting style is not the same thing as them not being strong enough to cast at this level and as everyone always notes this time of year, slots esp at pbp are extremely limited.

Good people will always miss out sadly.

Yep sorry, I did actually get it wrong. I went back to the VODS just to double check and make sure. In my mind I just remembered it was an Australian caster, and it was actually Medic casting alongside Spawn on Day 3 of 2019 Worlds Play-ins.

I don't want to spread more misinformation than I have, so I also peered back through the Reddit threads back then and could find this comment in regards to the friction in their casting, where Medic also responded.

https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/dd856g/isurus_gaming_vs_detonation_focusme_2019_world/f2emzqu/

As for the comment about 'challenging' each other, I can't seem to find it. It's possible it was through Medic or Spawn's Twitter that I saw it.

All g, I figured it was someone else from the same country I just knew almost assuredly that it couldn't be me specifically haha.

I think your point is super valid regardless!

Yeah, I always thought that he just has occasions where he comes off as arrogant. I remember one of his earliest casts (which I understand people can change and improve from then) he kept referring to himself as an ‘Uber human’ which was bizarre.

Another cast I remember with Pastrytime in the Worlds Play-ins a few years ago, it felt like they were being passive aggressive mid-cast. Medic actually came into the post match thread after to clarify that he enjoys ‘challenging’ the other caster when he hasn’t casted with them before.

Interesting, working with talent that's new to you is always a fun challenge (and one I've gone through a lot, esp at international) but I'm trying to think what games Medic and I might've been on together since we share the same role on air?

Not sure we've even been on a segment together? Some banter and a bevvy off air for sure, but curious if I'm missing something.

Assume it's Medic with someone else? But could be wrong, excited to find out.

I've clarified both here and on Twitter.

They did have doubles, but did also do work themselves.

You can presumably figure out which based on shots/difficulty level but I'm sure they'll chime in at some point if people are really interested in the training/performance.

They hired actual stunt people for this. I deeply appreciate the lengths they went through for this one, f**king fantastic and dumb

Edit: seeing on twitter that they did all the stunts themselves. Holy shit Kobe and Dash are smurf af

u/Pastrytime clarification edit: They did SOME of the stunts. Kobe and Dash are still smurf.

For clarity, 100% not all of them as people have suspected as a number of the bigger stunts would very dangerous without a professional.

But they did put in a huge amount of work themselves because they're constructed uniquely.

Ye they didn't do literally everything, they also had very handsome doubles for (I imagine) the harder stuff.

But they were really going for it here and it shows.

From memory I think they needed a week or two and then knocked this out.

I like the training arc narrative though so it's now canon thank you TrickyWalrus.

I'll never forget the collective mind's of (very early) League being blown when Edward demonstrated that you could gank mid lane by flashing over the raptor (then wraith) pit.
