Ah to be honest, it doesn’t come across as super clear in her base skin, I do like that you guys tried making a non Ionian asian champ tho. Do you guys usually consult the ERGs at Riot when doing champs based on their culture since I recall that they helped a ton on Senna
Yes, we started that process with Senna and have used it with most champs targeting specific cultural inspiration since Senna. Yeah, Seraphine was specifically targeting Chinese-American, and we went with a fairer skintone that took a lot of inspiration from younger, teenage Chinese-American vloggers.
Were Sett and Seraphine supposed to be based on any cultures, they’re the only recent champs that I have a hard time putting a finger on where they’re from
Sett wasn't inspired by any specific culture, but Seraphine was Chinese inspired, which is why K/DA Seraphine also spoke Chinese in the comics.
Is he originally from somewhere on the shuriman continent or are you planning to reveal to us new places soon?
He was born on Shurima, but he descendants were not
Have you considered changing champs to fit more with certain real world cultures in VGUs or updates as part of the goal of making humans more diverse, like making Olaf more nordic whenever his time comes
We have done that when it makes sense, like talking Inuit inspiration for Nunu and Greek/Mediterranean inspiration for Pantheon. I think for VGUs we would never want to force something on a Champion that didn't make sense for them, but if their are things that make sense it can be a strong tactic

I mean their is a lot of stuff that we want to get in just because we don’t really have it at all like a South East Asian inspired female,or a Latin inspired male. But we also want to add more to things we already have but just don’t have much of at this time. Our goal isn’t to just have like one good champion for al major cultures, our goal is to have the overall cast be a lot more culturally diverse even if that goal will take along time. South Asian Inspired Female and Middle Eastern inspired male are also high on our list even though we have Malz and Karma since those are older champs and getting some fresh champs inspired by those cultures would be great imo

Akshan's descendants are not from Shurima just like Lucians are not from Demacia. Just because of Champion is currently in a specific region doesn't mean that their decedents are from that region. Xin Zhao is also a Ionian living in Demacia
Akshan is actually inspired by South Asia (India specifically) Malzahar, Taliyah and Samira are all humans inspired by Middle Eastern culture. We do want to do a new make champion inspired by middle eastern culture in the future though
Yeah, well...Vayne needs to get that bigotry knocked out of her. I do wonder who'll be the one to do that though...Riven? Irelia? Gwen? Someone needs to have some harsh words for her regarding her utter lack of empathy for anyone and anything.

I was always under the impression that the celestial Aspects themselves (not the hosts) are soulless, nearly unfathomable entities embodying ideals from another realm on a completely foreign level to Runeterra. How is it that an inherently Runeterran based thing like the mist that spiritually corrupts souls really even know what to do with something like an Aspect?
I feel like several of these skin bios have been very misleading on what is actually happening (with some even needing to be changed). Is that by design to keep things un-spoiler-y or is it just a function of like word limits or something giving off the wrong impressions?
A Little of both. They are short word length so they don't provide a lot of room for context, but also we didn't want to give to much of the story away in the skin bios

God knows how much crap she's had to endure over the course of her life, and then to just get ruined, thrown into the dungeon, and justify all the hatred that's been piled on her forever and ever? Poor Shyvana. I really hope once this is all over that she can get the heck out of Demacia, have her region swapped over to Runeterra proper, and just go somewhere that she'd be appreciated. Ionia seems to like dragons. There seems to be an appreciation for elemental drakes in Ixtal. Just...Shyvana needs a break >_>...

For sure. I was speaking from Vayne perspective. She views Shyv as a monster. Not everyone in Demacia does. The skin bios are really short paragraphs that don't really go into a lot of detail. I think once u play through the later chapters of the visual novel it will go into a lot more depth into what happened then the skin bios do.
I wonder if Riven qualifies for the "truly good" list at this point. God knows she wants this more than anything. So here's to hoping Irelia comes around to seeing her that way.
Oh, and Gwen is just precious in this VN. What an absolutely wonderful and adorable character.
Getting Irelia and Riven to interact with each other was one of the big reasons we chose those 2 for the event.
The Mist did not just subsume Atreus, but also resurrected the long-dead spirit of Pantheon: the old Aspect of War himself. With Atreus' stubborn defiance silenced, Pantheon can resume control and revel in battle once again. It doesn't matter to him whose banner he fights under. If that banner is the Ruined King's? So be it.
This doesn't really sound like War is really being controlled.
He is 100% ruined by Viego. That's also why the skin is ruined pantheon not just regular pantheon. It's a short paragraph skin bio. Their is a lot more context once the Targon region unlocks in the story that I'm not going to go into in order to avoid spoilers
...So the entire reason for having the Aspect of War (not Atreus) join him was just to make Viego look better? And goes along with it only because Viego likes destruction and War is a big baddy who only cares about fighting?
That sucks for anyone that was interested in the Aspects if they are not only exist just to be whorfed, but also have a joke of a reason for joining a guy who's defining feature in life and undeath is being a complete fop.

Most were chosen as good antagonists for the Sentinels you meet in that region. Vayne is a monster hunter and Shyvana is a monster. Irelia and Karma have a history. Riven and Draven have a history in the arenas, for example. Pantheon was chosen to really show the extent of Viegos power, him corrupting Atreus and resurrecting the aspect of war shows just how powerful he is. I can't really speak, at this point, as to the reasons we chose MF. Ask me in again in the future.

Adding my personal opinion here but i think it's a cool way to tease/show off a champion. You can see their design, their personality and know if you will like the champion or not. I love seeing champs and getting attached to them and them being involved in a story definitely helps.
One question (idk if you can answer that yet): Will next roadmap be in September like last year?
I'm not sure when the next roadmap will be at this point. It will likely be sometime in between Vex and the Champion after her.

I've looked at it as well and if you assume that you'll always get the maximum amount of points for each character you'll find that you need to play 10 games to complete a region. (and that is the minimum amount of games you'll need to play). And considering there are 10 regions this means at least 100 games.
Math Interlude:
- Week 2 having done noxus before freljord you can get a total of 110 each game if you get max points for all characters. Both regions need 1050 points to be completed.
- Week 3 with irelia A and diana B => 253 points at maximum and 2500 points needed per region
Most likely though, people will have to play many more games than that (cuz noone's gonna get 17 kills, 15 assists, 32 vision score, 7 epic monsters, 0 deaths, ..... every single game). Hence a more reasonable estimate will be about 150 to 200 games in order to complete the entire event. Seems like a bit too much imo. It wo...
Right but OP is assuming u complete every region that releases in the week they release. It's tuned so hardcore players don't complete everything in the first few days (Which we saw with spirit blossom) It's tuned so both hardcore players and normal players can advance through it without the hardcore finishing significantly faster. So for example if you end up getting through like 1.5-2 regions in the first week, then the 3rd region you go to you will get through much faster in the 2nd week since now all your points are doubled. Given that fact, it would be less games to get through the first 3 regions then if you cleared all 3 in the first week. We also wanted to make sure that players coming into the event late could catch up to players that started earlier (if you start in the 2nd week you will get through all 3 regions twice as fast.) The final 2 regions ramp up less significantly (and their are only 2 added in the final week) with the assumption that most players won't make it...

If I am not wrong, week 2 asks for 2100 pts in total [Ionia and Targon 1050 each], this week was under 800 pts total for 3 regions. I read on twitter that there will maybe be another source shown for collecting points.. and I really hope that will speed it up a bit together with x2 increase
But I still wonder why is it all limited with those thresholds? It feels bad to miss on the points just because you were under the threshold by a kill/assist/ward/epic monster. To think that at a start score of 0/10/2 [1 pts] and 4/0/6 [2 pts] have a difference of just 1 point is a bit underwhelming
Right but u also have a lot more sentinels since u would have Lucian, Senna, Gwen, Vayne, Olaf and Riven all giving u points and all their points are doubled
Is it a mistake on your part that it doubles every week or on the support page? Or just misinterpretation? As im pretty sure its X * number of week rather than doubling from the previous week
