UPDATE 12/10/20: Watch out for Wooper—they’re now appearing more often in the wild! If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Wooper. Also, be on the lookout for Team GO Rocket Grunts appearing in balloons and taking over PokéStops more frequently. We’ve even received word that Team GO Rocket has turned Wooper into a Shadow Pokémon! Don’t forget—until Friday, December 11, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8), you can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration!

We will soon be conducting some tests regarding Raid Battle rewards and Egg management. The details of the tests are as follows.

• Raid Battle rewards will be adjusted in the United Kingdom and Ireland. These adjustments will be temporary and will begin on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT –8) and end in early January.
• Egg-management tests will take place with some Trainers globally in two variations. In both variations, Trainers will be able to store up to three additional Eggs from weekly Adventure Sync rewards and Team GO Rocket Leader battles if they already have nine Eggs in their Egg storage. XP has been increased for the following activities.

• Catching a Pokémon with a Nice Throw: 10 XP to 20 XP
• Catching a Pokémon with a Great Throw: 50 XP to 100 XP
• Catching a Pokémon with an Excellent Throw:100 XP to 1,000 XP
• Catching a Pokémon with a Curveball Throw: 10 XP to 20 XP
• Evolving a Pokémon: 500 XP to 1,000 XP
• Catching a Pokémon or spinning a PokéStop the first time in a day: 500 XP to 1,500 XP

And starting today, Pokémon originally discovered in Kalos—the region where Mega Evolution was first discovered—will also be appearing in the world of Pokémon GO! To celebrate their arrival, you’ll be able to take part in a special event.

Our first-ever Pokémon GO City Spotlight has wrapped! We hope Trainers in participating cities enjoyed their time exploring with their Buddy Pokémon and discovering new locations while remaining socially distant. We also hope Trainers took the opportunity to support local businesses.

Thousands of Trainers in Auckland, New Zealand; Busan, South Korea; and Tainan, Taiwan participated in City Spotlight. Here’s a peek at what they were able to do in just eight hours.

• Trainers caught nearly 3.58 million Pokémon.
• Trainers completed over 415,000 Timed Research tasks.
• Trainers took over 792,000 snapshots while completing...

Update 11/19/20: To continue adapting to the changing global environment, and in response to the situation becoming more difficult for many of our players, we are returning the following bonuses to the game beginning Thursday, November 19, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. PST:

• Incense effectiveness will be increased, now attracting Pokémon to you more often.
• Your Buddy Pokémon will now bring you more Gifts each day, up to five gifts at once and up to three times a day.

These bonuses are temporary, but they will remain in the game at minimum through June 2021. We’ll give at least one month’s notice before they change.

Since we began our journey together over four years ago, Pokémon GO has evolved in so many ways. In celebration of Pokémon GO’s integration with Pokémon HOME, a special event will be taking place soon! Activate a Mystery Box during the event, and you might encounter a Shiny Meltan. There’s also plenty of research to enjoy—from Timed Research that rewards Pidgeot Mega Energy to Field Research tasks that lead to encounters with Slowpoke and others!
