If you open the skills screen while riding a locomotive, you will end up not riding the locomotive but stuck inside it. Getting in and out of the locomotive gets you unstuck.

placing buildings on bridges and then breaking the building allowed trees/flowers/dig spots(probably everything, those are just what I got) to spawn on the bridges.
