We did have a small bug in our system that kept users from seeing their badges. It does show that the badge is now visible again.

I’m sorry to hear this has happened.
Have your save files been saved locally or on the Steam Cloud?
Unfortunately due to the nature of client based save files, we cannot recover files once they have been lost or corrupted. This will not be the case once we switch to Server-Side save files for multiplayer in patch 0.9, which is set to release later this year.
