My apologies, it seems that they changed it.
Look for "User Flair Preview" on the right sidebar, you can change your flair by clicking the pencil icon.

That's a User Flair. You can find them under the Community Settings tab on a browser.

Yes. Getting the Bug onto an unwilling participant isn't always easy. Some in the platoon might even die fighting back.

So, there are 3 main reasons:
We ran a study on app icons, and noticed that downloads increased by 20% when this icon was the one representing the game on the App Store/Google Play.
The app icon was changed to match the store icon, since the store icon was so popular (as per reason 1). This was to reduce confusion.
We wanted to change it.

Yes, the Ciru Bug meshes with their minds and inputs thoughts, but I wouldn't say that it fully controls them. The Cymanti still have some control of themselves, just with an additional voice in their heads that influences them.
After all, they still have a culture, and that wouldn't be possible if they were fully enslaved by the Ciru Bug.
Ah thanks! So is the disabling/enabling of tribes also using Alt + click tribe? If that is what is causing the issue, wouldn't changing the keybinds for either function fix the issue?
No, that is activated by tapping/holding a tribe
