otherwise, I could only assume they would post somewhere if there is impending downtime, and how long it would be expected for... a quick google search found nothing, twitter was my first go-to, however nothing about downtime was posted there... please let me know where such status information could be found - again, I can only assume its found somewhere, even small indie developers tend to keep their player base informed about such things.

There are messages in game for half an hour beforehand

FINALLY WE HAVE INFO

Also holy shit, what are 4 connected scarabs going to get us? New non-betrayal-exclusive boss fight for the expansion?

Scarabs do not connect together like regular fragments do

I wonder if this counts as Orb of Confusion from the halloween whiteboard? (Scarabs are fragments, not orbs)

I suspect that it was a mistake that the Betrayal symbol was shown as an Atlas Objective. That'll be used after the league ends when we enable Jun on core. Until then, you find Immortal Syndicate activity in every area in Betrayal League so there's no need for specific Atlas Objectives or Scarabs for it.

I've figured it out. So:

  • Scarabs have a Sextant-like property and can add mods to Maps (because you made the distinction between Map mods vs. Sextant/Scarab mods during the Worldcarver teaser)

  • Scarabs have a Prophecy-like property that can allow players to run Delve more frequently (because of the recent Betrayal Content announcement yestreday)

  • And they are NOT a currency item.

What fits the description of all of these? Leaguestones. Scarabs are the internal codename for Leaguestones returning in 3.5.0. Let's go down the list.

  • Can Leaguestones add mods to a Map like sextants do but aren't actual Map mods of that map? Yes, check.

  • Do Leaguestones allow you to run a League (like the Delve example used) more frequently because they have a Prophecy-like ability? Yes, check.

  • Are Leaguestones considered Currency? No, check.

...

Scarabs are not what you think of as Leaguestones

Okay, that's done now. Sorry for the delay! https://store.steampowered.com/developer/GrindingGearGames

Just to be clear, the last two mods only count mods the actual map item, not from Sextants or Scarabs that may apply to it.

They go in an existing tab which will be modified to accommodate them.

Does that mean masters and the mods available through them restart every league, because it says that is now account wide. It matters quite a bit for gameplay to be able to mod equipment with the best stuff right out of the gate.

Mastercrafting options have to be unlocked in each league, like before. It's just done differently now.

Scarabs?

Yeah

You never have to start at Delve Depth 1. It auto advances you through Act 10's equivalent level.

Each league, you have a new fresh mine. You start at Delve Depth 1*, just like you start all content again. It's just that flavour has joined achievements and the friends list in terms of "account-shared things that don't really matter for gameplay at all and can be accumulated in any league"

*Delve Depth 1 is higher level now because it starts in Act Four.

Should have patching server available soon, sorry about that!

I suspect that regardless of what selection we launch with, we'll be adding plenty more in the coming months.

It's a free variation for the existing one. If you wanted to pay for it, buy and enjoy something else instead :-)

EDIT: just to 'justify' this a little: Look at the character model of the syndicate member at 6:50 and the fight leading up to it in ZiggyD's video: https://youtu.be/o_bsqgXKGAU?t=410

Clearly, the character model doesn't match the portrait that shows up when he clicks on her - at all. You can get an even better look at the character model at 0:23 in the official trailer: https://youtu.be/d8Cpi4dFjm8?t=23.

Now, compare that character model to the current Tora model: https://d1u5p3l4wpay3k.cloudfront.net/pat...

Nice investigation there. The Order of Djinn wants people like you.

We used Tora's model for Rin in the promotional materials because Rin's model wasn't ready when we were filming it. "No one will notice"
