Are you able to provide a log from this game session?

Having a player's log will help us further investigate this issue, thanks!

You can find logs in the directory: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\My Games\Rocket League\TAGame\Logs
You can upload the log to a file-sharing site like google drive or pastebin and then DM me the link, thanks!

Yup! USW and usually around 12-2 pm or 5 pm and later (PDT).

Believe it or not, there are multiple of us over 30 at Psyonix and we still manage to play at or around GC!

The update should now be available for all players on Switch. Sorry about the delay!

Jizzy Gillespie

Nope, that should be filtered out. Depending on the platform you play on, and the platform that the offender is on, we may not use our own filter since we also rely on the platform-specific solution.

The name itself isn't filtered, but it seems like when it's all one word, and there are numbers at the end, it does get filtered. The text classifying system is effectively trying too hard to find something in the middle of all the text, which is definitely a false positive. I just made an adjustment that fixes this specific issue, but it may not be reflected in-game for 10 days due to our caching system.

Sorry about the inconvenience!

With chat logs being submitted with reports now, it's unfathomable that this still happens with such regularity, completely unchecked by manual or auto bans.

Almost all of the "system works great, I get people banned all the time!" comments in this thread are coming from self-identified champs and grand champs. Does Psyonix only care about elite level players, or is the report system itself just completely arbitrary in when and how it's effective? Not sure which is worse. I might only be a diamond, but I still care about the game and how thoroughly unpleasant its community is to interact with. If the latter wasn't so rampant, the former would be a lot more approachable and fun.

The Language Ban System doesn't care what rank players are.

Would you mind DMing me your in-game username so I can look into your report history?

I'd like to see what we're missing so we can use this information to improve the system.

We are really sorry for the abuse you encountered from this player. Rest assured we looked into the offending account and made sure to take the appropriate action.

Please continue to report abusive players as our ban system relies on these reports to determine what the community finds unacceptable. We also rely on reports for monitoring new phrases or behaviors that need to be added to our existing system (or for entirely new systems too).

Thanks!

Hey u/qazdjemehjoh,

Was this a recent issue that popped up?

I'd love to know if this has happened again or if you would be able to DM me your game logs so we can look further into this.

Thanks!

Hey u/Mick_JDM,

We were able to track this one down and it seems like it was a brief hiccup with Epic Account linking. As for your account, it looks like your MMR was immediately set back, so you shouldn't have to worry about this happening again.

Thanks for reporting this issue!

I would guess that this has something to do with Steam cloud sync, although that said I haven't noticed this happening with other games that also have cloud sync.

PM sent. Please do let me know if there's anything else I can do to help track this down.

Here's what I can relay so far:
Rocket League does not write or read any .vdf files. Those are specifically from Steam so it could very likely be a Steam Cloud Sync thing. However, why it's only happening for Rocket League and not any other game... I don't know. The only IO that Rocket League does is from the Drive and Directory booted from Steam, and the MyDocuments folder for save data, logs, etc.

If I get more updates based on your logs, I will share them when I can. However, I'm not sure if there is much we can say about this drive reading/writing issue.

I highly recommend disabling Bakkesmod to see if this continues to happen with it disabled.

The issue is very difficult to reproduce, and at this point, we haven't been able to make it happen again.

If you can share more information about your setup as well as logs, it may help us dig into this issue some more.

I have to give the LMB input again to stop it. If I press escape then in the menu it shows the XBOX A button as if Im using a controller, but im not. please fix this because this has made the game unplayable. the input lag is also significantly higher now (Edit: I think holding boost and then pressing reset shot button causes this)

Thanks for the recording and logs!

This seems pretty easy to reproduce, so we'll be sending this to the team to investigate.

It appears to write and then delete a temporary file to the secondary Steam library there. This is a problem because Rocket League patiently waits for the drive to wake from sleep, then spin up, a process which adds a good ten or fifteen seconds to the time it takes to launch the game.

Logs are definitely appreciated! You can DM Ted or Me with a link to the file (Google Drive or Pastebin are preferred).

In the meantime, we've forwarded this to our dev team for further investigation.
