Hello!

We are trying to pin this one down currently. I'm sorry it's affecting your games on mobile.

If you could DM me which carrier you are on and whether your network is IPv4 or IPv6, that would be very helpful to our efforts. Thanks!

Needing to click feels really unnatural and I'm sure as a designer you know more than I do about keyboard shortcut unification / expected beviour / UX stuff. But yeah, not a big fan of how it works at the moment.

If this isn't already planned, I'm sure it won't make it into the next patch- just hope the idea is on someone's radar if possible.

I definitely want more keyboard shortcuts in the menus. I'll add a note to my QOL list. Thanks for the feedback!

No problem! A lot of us that frequent reddit have been getting some much needed vacation in October. Sorry to leave everyone out of the loop. I'm back and rested now, so I'll try to provide context when I can. :)

  1. Yes, we have been working on refactoring and extending some older code in the last couple months. This should improve performance, but it sometimes causes new issues.

  2. This bug in particular is fixed in KLD, we won't be doing a hotfix. If you are having the giant numbers issue, you can DM me, we are looking for people that get it regularly - it has been hard to track down.

Hello, designer here. This was not a design decision at all, but a server issue where the game is waiting for a message that never gets sent, so the client sits until a timeout (8 secs) and then moves on.

It is currently resolved in next release. Sorry for the annoyance! We're all feeling it too as we play.

?booster works by checking the collector number vs collector number max. In a normal set, this is the same as the two number is the bottom left corner of the card (CN/Max)

[[Alpine Watchdog]] for example is 002/274, so it can be found in a booster.

[[Kaervek, the Spiteful]] is 358/274 so it cannot be found in a booster.

For Jumpstart the collector numbers might be a little funky, because the set is a bunch of reprints and doesn't have a normal booster formation. I think the Collector Max is 78, representing the new cards. The reprints may have carried over some of their collector information from the set they were released in, especially the ones we replaced.

I think when the latency is high - like my backwoods internet - I have to be more patient than I want to be to make sure I don't click on things that are mid-hop.

That said, I'm more of the "outside of gameplay" designer, so I'll point Ian towards this thread so he can see your feedback. Thanks for writing this up and starting the conversation!

Hello lincolnic,

I'm sorry I can't provide a solution or much of an update about these issues, but I will send this feedback over to the team working on ports. If you could send me a log from one of these crashes to my direct messages, that would help them diagnose what is going on.

In general, I personally try to comment on things that I have expertise in (the parts of the client outside of the match), and the community is unable to answer themselves. I'm pretty sure Lee, Jay, and Ben who also frequent Reddit are the same way. So if you don't hear anything from us, it's probably because we aren't confident enough to give an answer about it, other users are getting the correct information out there, or we simply missed the thread.

Thanks for writing this up, I appreciate the time you put into making sure we know about the issue. I can't make any promises about when it will be addressed, but I can make sure the correct people are aware of the situation. Hop...

Yeah, that Uncollected checkbox can really trip you up. We need a better solution for saving whether a user wants it on or off by default. There are actually 3 user stories with competing needs:

New User: Wants Uncollected off because they don't own very many cards and they want to make a deck with the cards they have.

Advanced User: Wants Uncollected on because they have a large collection and will craft what they are missing.

Uber Power User: Has all of the cards and wants Uncollected off to hide Planeswalker deck cards.

Thanks for posting your experience, it's something we are working on!

So, if it could always be filtered to the most basic edition, importing would always work since you need the basic edition of the card before promos will work anyway.

Someone mentioned that text versions of deck list exports now work, which is great news. That should have been the default format of deck list in the first place, IMHO. It's the simplest and leads to the fewest problems with promos and the like.

I don't think you can import it even if you did have it, but I might be mistaken. I will see what I can do about that.

I didn't write the original system, but I did write the simple text decklist importer. In general, I like having both. Relying on something to be spelled 100% correctly over 8 languages is pretty brittle. The CNs are written right on the card, so there really shouldn't be that many mistakes with them. Mostly, I use the simple text one myself because you can hand-edit it easier.

There are two formats for deck sections. Each section must be separated by an empty line.

Unlabeled (or incorrectly labeled)
1st section is Maindeck, 2nd is the sideboard

Import doesn't return styled cards right now, I can see about handling that situation and replacing with unstyled versions depending on ownership.

Set + CN is better for foreign languages because it will ignore misspelled names as of the 1.09 release. The only problem I see is the using promo CNs (full art cards, etc.), we do track them by CN, but there is some work to make the import treat them as actual cards.

There are some changes we need to make to this scene, that I hopefully have some time for soon.

- Remove the colors. Regardless of how you read the colors, we are introducing bias by making them two different colors. That and our game is conditioned on the "orange" button being the one we are highlighting for you to press in general - so it's not a good way to get an unbiased sample.

- Also, the order should be randomized. Having the button on the same side every time also introduces bias, that's why presidential ballots are randomly ordered.

This is Maro's reasoning:

" Oh, real quickly. Why do we do that? I’ve talked about this in my column, but for those that haven’t heard me say it, when first Richard made the cards, the problem was that black and blue both start with B. So why not go to L then? Well, land—which we used to—card colors are used to signify the border, the kind of card it’s on. And so land has its own border. So L is for land. Well why not go to A for black? Well, A is artifact. And so U was the first we could get to in either of them, so we ended ...

Currently investigating the problem.

We had a crash when specific cards were the stack in some languages that we just patched last weekend. This looks like it could be something similar. I know it's not a great solution, but playing in English should stop the crashes until we have a fix.

Thanks for posting these videos, it's helping us figure out what's going on.

Well... darn it. Thanks for pointing this out.

I love Abzan and cats, so I'm not sure why my brain decided to put blue in there.

This is high on my list too!

I would like to group everything that has the same card name (we call it "title") and then allow people to expand them out if they want and choose which one is the "default". We could remove a lot of extra cards from the collection view and also get land favoriting at the same time.

This feature is currently in the design phase, not sure when we'll be able to schedule the work on it. There are some UI/UX issues that make it more than just a quick fix.
