Assuming the numbers in the video are generally correct, this system should at the very worst be on-par with what we currently have. And while there are some scummy elements to KP, it essentially turning XP into a store-able currency has some big benefits for the players:
- You can 'store' your daily progress for future use, like buying new agents when you return from a break, or instantly buying the new agent's gear without having to grind weeks for it.
- In a similar vein, unlike XP which is locked in when you earn it, KP lets you change your mind about where to spend it, so maybe you're working on some agent gear but a cool spray shows up, you can spend your KP on that instead.
- New agents are unlocked by XP, but you still earn KP, so you get to double-dip a little there.
- The video shows 200K XP to unlock agents, which is the same as what it is now.
