Please note that other this recent issues there are some other MacWrapper related issues that might appear on some Mac configurations and even if this solution is working, we're unable to resolve all of them just with one fix.

Please feel free to submit a ticket to support if you have any other ticket. Be prepared to provide some information regarding your Mac. There more information you provide initially the easier it will be for us to understand your issue.

We're currently collaborating with CodeViewers to develop a major Wrapper update that should resolve the majority of crashes and other issues reported here.

10. That's all. Start Public Test client using your PT account and you will be logged in successfully :)

0.8.2 is not stable enough because Mac computers have not very strong integral video adapters (Intel HD in most cases). Because of this our client is relocating missing video memory to RAM and client could be crahed at any time because of Out Of Memory (OOM) issue. Right now WorldOfWarships.exe is a 32 bit application that cannot use more than 4G of RAM. Even if your system has 16G RAM it doesn't matter, because of 32bit appliation.

In 0.8.3 we have released bin64 application of World of Warships. It means that all OOM should be gone if you have enough of RAM on your Mac computer. In addition, CW team is working on big update for WoWs MacOS wrapper (the link I sent in Step.2 in the message above). It is not final yet, but we are working together to make it stable enough for every Mac player.

Bacause of these two news (0.8.3 with bin64 and wrapper update) I am asking you guys to test our game before release, on Public test server. It will not affect you production account at all (pink status or something else). And if you will get any crashes or other issues I am asking you to tell me about them so we could fix them ASAP.

Please open Finder -> Documents. There you can find "Wargaming.net Games" folder. Go there and you will find WoWs game folder.

You can make screenshots using "comand+sh*t+3" hotkey. All screenshots will be stored on the Desktop.

You shouldn't notice any difference between WGC and Launcher. BTW, WGC wrapper is much-much more table that Launcher's' one, so it is stringly recommended to use it.

Yes, better to use WGC rapper

PT client has enabled replays by default. You should find replays in "~/Documents/Wargaming.net Games/World_of_Warships_PT/replays/". Or please try to find them in "bin64" folder: "World_of_Warships_PT/bin64/replays/"

As I know there is no "Screenshot" button on MacOS keyboards. So, I do not know how you can make screenshots in Game except using another keyboard or using MacOS hotkey Command+Shift+3

- Lower the graphics settings to "Minimal"

Dear captains,

The new version of Mac wrapper was just released. Make sure to download and install it from the Portal.

You might see a warning message that you're trying to open an application from an unauthorized developer which is pretty common when you're trying to install any software from outside of the App Store. Just hold down the Control key on your keyboard while you click and select Open after that.

This Mac Wrapper version is released to address stability issues and the majority of crashing/launching issues. Please provide your feedback so that we could pass it along straight to the development team.

How often do you have such freezes?

Do you have these crashes every first battle? Could you please try to run the game in debug mode so we will collect more data about crashes? Please PM me so I could give you the instruction how to do it.

There is no way to run WG Check on OSX (for now) :(

As I can see the only issue that still bothering OSX players is constant crashes. Other issues could wait till crashes will be fixed. But the problem here that Mac computers are much different than PC one with the same hardware. At the same time WoWs (and other WG games on Mac) are working uner Wine. Crash files are almost useless because of Windows emulation. It means that at this moment we cannot fix all these crashes without player's' help.

This is why I need your help to make our game much better on OSX.

Known bugs on OSX:

1. Battle crashes/freezes

2. Low FPS on some Mac computers (need more info about Mac hardware)


@njroc, you have very long battle loading issue, right? The client is not freezing os something else? What game settings do you have?

@awesomeartichokes, yeah, I am talking with devs about compensation for Mac players. I will try my best to do it as soon as we can.

@Rick_Elmore, could you please try to run the game in debug mode?

Version 3.1.6 has been released. Please redownload it from the official website to be sure that you have the latest version.

This version fixed an issue with "developer cetrificate" error. Now you can run app withour any problem.

Also it has some other perfomance fixes for WoWs.

Yeah, we know about issue with mouse cursor. But it is common issue for some MacOS applications and we haven't find a way how to fix it on other ways. But CW team is still searching for a way to fix it.

Only way is to launch the game in debug mode and send me debug logs then. One of these scripts should help:

debugwows.sh

debugwowsNA.sh

Open terminal and use these commands:

chmod u+x ~/Downloads/debugwows.sh

chmod u+x ~/Downloads/debugwowsNA.sh

Then you can launch it using terminal (Open with Terminal)

Audio issues is common issue with Windows WoWs. They will be fixed in future versions

Yeah, WGC wrapper should autoupdate itself from 3.1.6 to 3.1.7, but I am still recommend you to download the latest version from official site by yourself.

3.1.7 have some fixes for crash and perfomance issues but it is not solving them all. We will continue to work on making it better in future versions

Sounds strange because it is the same version that I gave for test about a week ago. And almost all players said that it had reduced amount of crashes. Another part of players said that nothing changed. And it is really strange that it became worse.

Yes, all WoWs websites are offering NA WGC build because it doesn't matter for WGC what region it is. But WoWs never offered any other WGC build except NA one. It means that you downloaded EU build not from WoWs website but somewhere else.

There is no option to watch replays at this moment. I will ask CW team could it be done in the future.

Yeah, because this is test build based on 3.1.6 version

We need to return back the quality of "3.1.6" version first because with any types of compensation are useless when we still have so much issues

You should understand that tech core of the game is improving from version to version. WoWs 2017 and WoWs 2019 are totally different games. But wrapper is not a solution with guaranteed quality. It is updating much more rare than the game. This is why we need player's' support to improve this quality.

All issues that you have described above is not "wrapper" issues. Looks like you have overloaded hdd/ssd that could be the reason of big time to get into game and the reason of sound issues.

"Team chat no longer functions during games. If another player communicates with me, I cannot respond." - what chat do you meant here? Battle chat or chat at the dock?

What kind of issues do you have? Please add more details

Please send me screenshots of these polygons. And try to update your OSX. It could update your GPU drivers as well.

So, about 200% is normal situation for Mac. On OSX 100% means one core, so if you have a quad core with hyperthreading it can go as high as 800%. Yeah, it is confusing...

200% sounds about right. it means two cores are used. I've seen it between 120% and 300% depending on settings and hardware. If the game is GPU limited the CPU utilization goes down. vsync or fps limits reduce it etc

If I remember right there are 4 threads that are doing real work, and they more or less sum up to 200%.

It is not a single core. Like I said above one core is 100%. Is you have 200% - it means that 2 cores are busy. And this kind of "load" is acceptable for Mac


Yeah, overheating is one of the most popular Mac problems. They are not designed to play heavy games and they do not have good coolers inside. I know so much stories about bad cooling systems in Mac... Because of overheating you have hernel_task over 300-500%, because it is trying to cool you computer.

CW is aware of this Mac issue and trying to make improvements in the wrapper.


FPS issue is well known on the wrapper and it is 2nd priority issue (1st one is to fix the crashes). CW team are working on improving the situation but till than I recommend you to minimize your graphic settings.


Please try to launch the game in debug mode. Open Terminal and start the game using thus command:

And one more. Please make screenshot of Activity Monitor with World Of Warships process. You have extremely a lot of crashes. I am starting to think the problem could be started on integrated GPU (intel HD) instead of dedicated one (Radeon Pro 560).

WGC cannot be run on 10.14.5, but we will fix it soon

As I said before I need debug logs that could be collected only if you run WoWs in debug mode. I need this wows.txt file from the desktop.

Yeah. I have asked CW team to make debug application that will run game in Debug mode by default with less amount of logs to provide better performance in debug mode.

There is only "bin64/reports" folder there. No "wows.txt" file from desktop. Or I can't find it

The latest wrapper update was for WoT only. It doesn't affect WoWs at all.

As I said above, we are working on creating additional WGC_debug.app that will run applications in debug mode with additional logs that could help us to solve these freeze/crash issues

Hello!

The latest WGC update (not wrapper update) broke wrapper for some Mac computers with Intel GPU cards. CW and WGC teams are working on fixing the issue already.

WGC should be fixed soon.

Older version could not be started because of WGC update. Only 3.1.11 works with their update

Try to remove this folder:

Could you please try to update you OSX to the latest version if you have any updates? It could update video drivers.

Please try official 3.1.11 version from official website. It will not collect logs on desktop anymore and performance of the game should be better.
