Hello, i already contacted ubisoft support who asked me to do some stupid troubleshooting over and over again. So i wondered if some of you found a solution to this.

My problem is simple : I can't fast travel to norway. nor by my own (atlas) either by talking to Sigurd for the Road To Valhalla mission. The game simply crash to desktop since the 1.5.0.1

Here a list of my significant attempts :

  • Verified game files
  • Reinstalled the game
  • Low quality
  • One screen only
  • Updated / reinstalled graphics driver
  • Played on a second administrator user for windows
  • Cleared game cache
  • Cleared Direct X cache
  • Lowed the resolution
  • Applied an OC on both CPU / GPU ( Ofc tried without too )
  • Disabled every uplay connectivity / overlay features
  • Tried to use a custom pagesys file on my system
  • Tried to use 6 mounth old GPU drivers
  • Tried to use different RAM profile ( even default one )

I got a video of the problem here :

"> if you mind.

I'm getting a little bored since i bought this (shi*ty) game something like 60€ and i can't even finish it.

Here the debug.log lines concerned by the issue :

[0121/190505.044:ERROR:viz_main_impl.cc(201)] Exiting GPU process due to errors during initialization
[0121/190505.118:ERROR:viz_main_impl.cc(201)] Exiting GPU process due to errors during initialization
[0121/190505.122:ERROR:browser_gpu_channel_host_factory.cc(119)] Failed to launch GPU process.
[0121/190505.122:ERROR:gpu_process_transport_factory.cc(1026)] Lost UI shared context.

Hi @yayab42. Thank you for reaching out to us. I apologize you are experiencing these crashes. I took a moment to look through your MSINFO file you uploaded to your previous case and I do have a few things that stuck out to me that could be causing this crash.

Firstly, I noticed you have a lot of drives connected to your PC. Is the game, Ubisoft Connect, and your OS all on the same drive? If not, could you download them all on the same drive as a test to see if this prevents these crashes?

Also, I do see a lot of .dll and KERNALBASE.dll errors. These typically indicate a need for Microsoft Windows / Resources updates.

If you try both of these steps and you are still experiencing crashes, please make sure your save is uploaded to the cloud for us to take a look at. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding while we look into this issue.

Hey there @RockLou and @sonkkorh - great to hear the steps provided by @yayab42 were able to solve an issue you'd both been having 🙂

For any other players having issues, we'd recommend reaching out to us in a new thread before trying the steps above. The reason for this is that our recommended troubleshooting steps have been shown to fix the vast majority of issues, so we'd rather start with those, before moving on to more specialised fixes. Here's our guides linked below.

PC
PS4
PS5
Xbox One
Xbox Series S/X

If those steps don't solve the issue, please reach out to us on a new thread, fully explaining what is happening when you are playing the game (including what activity you were performing, when the issue happened, how it looked, any error messages). We'll be happy to give assistance from there!
