So, basically the title.

For the past week, I've been having issues where the game would crash to desktop. No error warnings or pop-ups, just straight crash. This would happen within the first 30 minutes of playing, but once restarted, the game would run relatively well. Maybe another crash, but it would mostly run well after that.

Now I can't play my campaign anymore. Tonight it crashed, and trying to play again after that, it crashes about 5 seconds after the city loads, every time. It does this for my current campaign. If I start a new game it doesn't crash. I've put in a hundreds of hours in the campaign, so I'm not keen on just starting over, especially if this just happens again.

I verified game files to no luck.

Here's my save game file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o17dLv_ZdPobGXRt3_1iJYgAcc5EpPL1/view?usp=sharing

Hope something good comes out of it.

Hey @BDDark, thanks for getting in touch and I am sorry to hear this as I fully appreciate the frustration this may cause after spending a lot of time on the game.

So that we could look into it further, may I double-check the following:

  1. Do you recall what happened prior to your game crashing? Was there anything in particular you noticed that may have led to it?
  2. As the game crashes, do you happen to receive any error messages at all?

In the meantime, give the following steps a go (I acknowledged that you verified your game files already), and see if problem remains.

Keep us updated!

Hey @bddark , thanks for trying the steps Ubi-Karl linked, and for explaining the situation further.

Nothing jumps out at me yet about what the issue might be, but it's great you're managing to zero in on the issue. From here on the forums, we're limited on what we can do. However, our one-on-one support agents are able to use a couple of system files to investigate crashes better than we can here.

Please see this article, which describes how to generate a DxDiag file and an MsInfo file. Although your crashes don't seem to produce error messages, Windows does still track them, and with these files we can see what has been logged. When (hopefully if) you run into further crashes, please generate those files, and then contact us at any of the links above, where the agents will talk you through sending them across.

Let me know if I can clarify any of these steps at all!

Hey, @dezerker - really unfortunate to hear you're having a similar issue.

It sounds like you've followed the steps from the troubleshooting guide we've linked already, so the next step I'd suggest is gathering those system files, and getting in touch with us via a support ticket or via social media, as we can use those files to diagnose the issue. Let me know if you have any trouble generating the files, or getting in touch.
