Bonjour,
my game takes more than 3 minutes to start, I'm stuck at the epilepsy warning screen all this time. Performance meter show no bottle neck, memory, CPU nor GPU. I have tried to play online and offline, tried Directx11 and Directx12, try to verify all the files and complete uninstall reinstall, can't find the problem.

Thanks for your help

Hey @epsylium ,

Thank you for getting in touch!

May we please know the specs of the PC you're using (GPU, CPU, RAM, OS, Laptop / Desktop)?

And could you please give the additional steps in this guide a try too and let us know if they help at all?

Thank you!

Hey @Sqtgdog , thanks for sending across your report of this same issue with long load times when starting up Anno 1800. Just to double-check, were you also getting as far as the epilepsy warning screen? I'd really like to help you solve this.

I can't see any other reports of long delays getting the game to start up, so I'm confident we can solve this with a bit of local troubleshooting. Please see the troubleshooting guide. In particular from the guide, please make sure you are running the game with administrator rights, you've verified the game files, you've got your graphics drivers and Windows install fully updated, and you've (at least temporarily, for testing) deactivated all background programs.

I'd certainly be expecting your system to be able to load the game without this sort of issue. However, I did want to point out that we'd typically recommend keeping the game's launcher (as we as Ubisoft Connect if you purchased through Steam or Epic), and the game itself, on the same drive as Windows. The reason for this is that it speeds up transfer times, and makes sure there are no access issues - it's just a bit more ideal. However, I wouldn't expect not doing this to lead to minutes of loading times, so while I do think this would be a worthwhile troubleshooting step anyway, I'm not confident it'll fix the issue.

Please let me know how you get on with those troubleshooting steps I've linked. If it still doesn't work, we'll try something more intensive 🙂
