Hello,

I am posting here as a last resort, to find help to solve my problem which is annoying me considerably with Anno 1800.

My game, since I bought the Season Pass 2, doesn't run anymore. I was able to launch a game for the first time, which lasted several hours, and since two months, it has been impossible to launch the game. It freezes on the Ubisoft Connect loading screen, runs in a infinite loop of loading, without any error message or information in the logs.

I created a support ticket that couldn't help me, and I've already been able to perform a considerable number of actions, without it making any difference. In an exhaustive way :

I modified "DX12" for "DX11" in the config available in Documents/Anno 1800/Config.

I reinstalled DirectX, first with the version available in the game folder, then with the version available on the Microsoft website. Same for Redistributable Visual C++ for Visual Studio 2015.

I re-downloaded & re-installed the game several times, as well as performing repairs from within the game, as well as Windows repairs and scans.

I started Uplay and ANNO 1800 as Administrator, and with Windows 8 accounting settings. In offline mode. Started the PC in safe mode. In selective boot without the background programs, nor the network drivers.

I deleted my backups and removed the Cloud backup from Uplay.

Emptied the Uplay cache, completely disabled the antivirus and firewall of the PC. Tested on different screens, with different resolutions and frequencies (144Hz / 60Hz). My graphic card drivers are up to date.

Provided support for a Msinfo, Dxdiag and Uplay logs.

I love this game and I really wish I could play it, but I feel like I've tested virtually everything except reinstalling my PC, which I don't want to have to do. I hope to find more answers here, so feel free to offer me some solutions if you have any I'm desperate for.

Thank you and have a nice day,

Sebastien

Hello there Saefr35,

Welcome to the Forums!

I've checked your case, and DxDiag and see you're well above specs, however we'd need a more up to date MSinfo if troubleshooting steps have so far been unsuccessful.

Have you ever tried performing a system file check?

Which drive do you also have Ubisoft Connect / Anno 1800 installed too? As installing it to the same drive as your OS has been known to help in some cases.

Let us know how you get on!

Hello Saefr35, I have just checked over the files you have uploaded but can see you are still running many programs on start up that conflict with some of our games as they can be CPU intensive and affect the performance as well as occasionally crash the game. COuld you please make sure to do a complete clean boot correctly. The programs I saw in your system files you need to disable are - OneDrive, Steam, Discord, LGHUB, OPENVPN, Overwolf, SoftEther VPN, SteelSeries Engine 3, Riot Vanguard

If you are using any other software in the background such as, but not limited to -

Full Screen Game Overlays
VoIP and Chat services
RGB controllers
Overclocking Software
Hardware monitoring
Streaming software
Peer to Peer software
VPN

Please performing a 'clean boot'.

To disable these applications from running in the background -

- Press the Windows key and S buttons on the keypad and search for Task Manager,
- Launch the app then navigate to the 'Start Up' programs tab
- Right click on any program or software that might be conflicting with the game such as the programs listed above and select 'Disable'
- Restart the computer then try launching the game from Uplay/Epic/Steam
