Gentlemen, disaster struck!
My 102 hour playthrough of this fantastic game might be unrecoverable!

I made a save file yesterday at 1:42 am in my local time, ready to head to bed. This morning I tried to load my game and everytime I press continue, it crashes during loading.
If I try to manually load a game, I just hear a click and nothing happens.

I've tried repairing the game multiple times, the game keeps doing this modded or vanilla.
Starting a new modded game however appears to be fine, did my save got corrupted somehow?

I can share my save game and mod list if that helps.
Help would be appreciated!

EDIT: It seems I have found which Autosave still works, I lost around 3 hours of progress and during this time I was mainly developing the Arctic (Autosave is when I just started colonizing my first Gas Island). I cannot load any file after that.
Well at least it's not a terrible a loss, but still, possibly either the Gas Heater mod or the Increase Radius for Gas Pump from Spice it up compilation might be at fault here, weird but possible.

Hey @raiseo_hitsu ,

Thank you for reaching out and for the update, glad to hear you've been able to get back up and running although a shame to hear some progress was lost!

As we don't officially support mods there's only so far we can advise in these cases, but please take care when using them as it is possible for a mod to corrupt saves, so it may be worth making backups just in case!

If there is anything we can help with at all, please let us know!

No problem, thanks for sharing your fix all the same @raiseo_hitsu !

I'm afraid Anno 1800 doesn't come with a crash logging file facility though, but hopefully it doesn't happen again in the future!

Take care yourself and if there's anything more we can help with, let us know!

Thanks very much for coming back and reporting what the cause was, @raiseo_hitsu - I really appreciate it! That'll be very useful for other players facing similar issues.

@Raiseo_Hitsu Thanks for your insights on this - I can see that such configuration options would be useful, for sure. I've gone ahead and passed your feedback on about this.
