Since the 9.2 update (December 1th 2020) I'm experecing an issue that is "repeatable" and an extension of an issue I've been having for at least 6 months.

When I load up a save for the first time in game and open an expedition the game will freeze for a period between 1 to 3 minutes.
Afterwards this issue does not reoccur untill next time I load a save for the first time in a new game boot.
I'm running Anno 1800 in Directx11 and vsync off, with most of the other settings on their highest setting.
(Directx 12 kept chrashing the game)

Now the following issue occurs extra since the 9.2 patch.
I bring the rotten fruit from Archibal Blake to Ketema, I accept the Ketama conversation.
And then all further conversation (and sometimes other gamesounds) get muted.
After the conversation of Biniam about prescident the game will freeze sometimes up to 4 minutes, it can chrash if clicked outside the game.
After this period all the convos repeat over each other and the game continues fine.
Reloading the save after this happens will not result in the game muting and freezing.
Loading an expedition (and having the game freeze) before handing over the rotten fruit will sometimes result in the game not muting/freezing but not allways.

Validating game files and updating drivers did not change result.

Hey there guys,

Sorry to hear you're having issues.

Resender2be, thank you for the details and steps you've tried so far!

bigtel2020 please ensure you'd verified your files and I'd also recommend both of you try performing a clean boot.

May we also know the specs of your systems?

Thank you!
