Stuck at authenticating ownership of game with ubisoft

Hello,

anyone else getting this error with launching ubisoft games from steam? Rainbow Six Siege works well, but Anno 1800 isn't.

I've had this problem since the end of December and created 2 support tickets. Both got responses asking for screenshots and proof of purchase which I replied with. Both haven't gotten any response back.

I'm desperate to get to playing it again and run out of patience. I've googled and searched through reddit with people who've had the same error, but the best solution that worked for some but not for me was to play offline. Even in offline mode the game fails to authenticate ownership.

images are of what occurs when launching anno

as you can see, if you looked at the screeenshots, I have it in my library when i'm in the ubisoft website, but in ubisoft connect (the desktop program) it doesn't show I own it.

I have played over 50 hours of Anno 1800. I DEFINITELY own the game.

Hey @Zep_Johnny

This error usually means you launched and linked the game originally whilst logged in to a different Ubisoft account, so please check the username in top of Ubisoft Connect and see if you remember having another one. Then try logging in with any other email addresses you own.

If you can't remember having another account or the details for it, we can help you resolve it, but not on a public forum, so please reach out through one of the options below so we can help you locate the correct account to login to.

We will need you to provide uncropped images of your purchase in your Steam transaction history as well as the information below:

1) C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\cache\ownership

Can you see more than 1 profile ID here for more than 1 account? If so, please can you copy and paste the profile ID's in the ticket so we can check those accounts? You may also provide a screenshot of those.

2) If you only had 1 profile ID in the folder above, please provide your 17 digit Steam ID, as this may be able to help us find the original account it was linked to. You can find this on your Steam profile page. There will be a URL link near the top. The Steam ID will be the 17 digits at the end of the link.

3) Alternatively, if you can tell us any other usernames or email addresses you have, we can search for those to find any other accounts you own where the game may have linked to.

Hey @tuckbuckford2,

Thanks for reaching out.

Are you also experiencing authentication issues?

Given the nature of these and that they require us to look into your account(s), this isn't something we can assist with via the public Discussions.

And thus, all we can do from this channel is direct you to opening a case with the relevant information we need to look into this further.

Apologies if this comes across as canned, but it's all relevant to the issue at hand.

As for our direct channels, we are experiencing higher than normal contact levels at the moment, resulting in delays to some responses.

Rest assured your cases has not been ignored and as we don't use bots across any of our channels, it's taking some time for our teams to get back to everyone.

At this time, we kindly ask that you remain patient and ensure your case includes the information noted below.

We'll be in touch with you as soon as possible to look into this further with you.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hey @Arithon89,

I've removed the Case ID from your post for security purposes.

As below, we're aware of delays and are working through the backlog best we can.

Posting your case ID to the forums will not envoke a faster response.

For non-account specific, general gameplay issues, you are welcome to open a thread here to discuss this further.

In regards to being unable to build the World Fair in-game, please ensure you've tried verifying the game files as well as testing in a new save file and feel free to open a new thread with this information so we can refrain from trailing off the discussion here.

Thank you!
