I'm a Steam guy, so I've been waiting to play this game for a while, and I finally decided to buy it on Ubi Connect yesterday because of the sale. I got carried away and also bought the first three season passes and four cosmetics, only to learn this game doesn't run too well on my computer. Had one of those nights when you should be playing a game, but you're just trying to play a game. In the end, I made it an hour into the campaign, with everything set to low on DX12. And it still crashed. I don't think I'm going to get past the riots in the city, even with the pedestrian population turned to its lowest.

I also crashed earlier at higher settings with DX11. (Edit: Just played again now with DX11 and low settings, and it froze my screen, forcing a hard restart.) Latest drivers updated. Nothing else running. Windows 10. I play lots of games including Ubi's Riders Republic and GR Wildlands ACROSS THREE SCREENS (5824x1080) at near-max settings getting >40 fps (both on HDD), so I feel like this should be fixable on one screen and HDD.

Is there a common problem with Nvidia and this game? I've got an RTX 2070 Super, which should handle the game just fine on any setting at 1920x1080. (Also, 32 GB with older i7-4790, but that doesn't look like it's struggling.) The audio also stutters and music stops. Is there a way to disable music and not just turn down the volume?

I'm going to poke around more and eventually submit a bug if I can't fix it, but was surprised I didn't come across a quick fix after searching, so I thought I'd check here.

While the crashes are the real problem, the game is super slow and has problems loading textures. But the game was installed just before running. I'm considering reinstalling on an SSD, but the fact that it's on an HDD really shouldn't be a problem.

Please HELP!

@motayba Hey there! Welcome to Discussions!

I'm sorry that you were having trouble getting the game to run properly on your internal HDD. I'm glad that moving it over to an SSD seems to have helped fix this issue though. I took a look at the minimum specs required for the game and did see a note at the bottom: For comparable graphics card, the GPU needs to be able to support Shader Model 5.0 for playing the game with DirectX 11 and Shader Model 5.1 for DirectX 12.

Not sure if that helps clarify why this was happening but I figured it was worth noting. Another thing to mention is that we have submitted feedback to the team from other players that would like to see the minimum specs get updated. If that ends up happening, it would be announced here on the forums and on the official social media.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thanks!
