Only happens on one of three owned islands. Placing a building does not remove forest in some areas. "D" demolish key does not work on selected areas. AI islands do not seem to have the issue.

Regarding the tree issue here specifically:
Can you please confirm that you are using no mods? Especially no mods that are altering islands in some way?
