Was logged out of ED with recent update. Trying to log back in and it is saying I need to purchase the game. HALP

Can you share a bit more information on what's giving you trouble? Are you getting a particular error message or anything when you're trying to log in?

Your PSN account would have to be linked with an EA Account in order to play any EA games online. If you've already been playing Apex Legends it sounds like your PSN ID was probably linked with an EA Account a long time ago. 

 

Usually that error message just means that you'll need to reset the EA Account password. If you haven't already, can you give that a shot to see if it helps? You can find more info on how to reset it over at the EA Help website

If you can't recall the email address on the account it would be best to reach out to EA Help so they can take a look. They should be able to track down the account, and they'll see what they can do to help you get logged back in.
