Your account progress is saved to your EA Account, so as long as you're not unlinking your Steam and EA Accounts your progress will not be lost.

That is true whether you're moving or even uninstalling the game itself. 

I would reach out to Steam Support to see if they have any other information about the move game option specifically as that's a Steam feature we don't have other info about, I'm afraid.
