We’ll have more news about the patch soon.
Here’s our updated announcement about the Testlive to live patch.
We’ll have more news to share soon.
Just to clarify:
The patch being deployed to TestLive is a different build then the one we are stabilizing internally to go live next week.
It can indeed be confusing, sorry, let me clarify
We are working on different build branches internally. The Build that is supposed to go live next week is being worked on independently from the build that is going to be deployed to TestLive today. The build going to TestLive can then at any time in the future be merged with the build that goes to Live next week.
It’s very common to work on different build branches like this for software development.
The TestLive build is a different build.
The Build for Live is done. The only thing that we are working on (and know what the problem is already) is the building issues we’ve mentioned. We do not want to get that patch out before we have those issues fixed. I know, you guys want to play and you want to see the issues you were waiting on to be fixed, fixed on the version you play. I am truly sorry about the delays as it’s never fun whatsoever to have to wait. We have always been fully aware that the most heated discussions are born out of passion and caring for something. We know, we do listen and we are working hard.
The TestLive patch is not the same build as the one for Live. Since we are delayed because of these issues with the building mechanics we wanted to get the next build ready and tested in the meantime. This means hopefully faster deployment after the delay with the current patch for Live and less waiting on your part
Also, constructive discussions are always encouraged and it’s interesting to see and understand different viewpoints, as long as there are no personal attacks, insults or vitriol being thrown around.
We are still working hard on the patch and will let you know once it’s ready for deployment.
There are different devs assigned to the unnamed city balancing than the ones working on fixing the patch issue.
Here you go, quoted from right above. Instead of giving you estimates from the team which I got in the past, I mentioned that we will let you guys know once it’s ready. Also, I never once mentioned that patch was 100% ready as you claim. All communication was pretty clear about us having to fix an issue with the building mechanics.
No, I don’t think our community is stupid, quite the contrary and I think you don’t understand the statement above and I am more than happy to explain:
The live patch has been stable but there has been a big issue with the building issues we mentioned several times (including the text you quoted). And yes, that issue has indeed been hard to solve. Why would we claim that is the case if it wouldn’t be? What would be the reason for us to hold back a patch on purpose? There is absolutely zero reason for us to hold back a patch just for the heck of it. We know that players are waiting for the patch and the least thing we want to do is actively frustrate our community. So again, there is absolutely no reason for us to just deliberately hold back a patch.
To mention it for for clarification: the building issue is being looked at by separate developers than the ones who added new features and additional fixes for the new TestLive updates.
I am not sure what else I could explain. If I wasn’t clear enough than I need to work on my communication skills and I am always looking for ways to improve
That wouldn’t be a good idea at all. You want a new build out as soon as you can, to have leeway in case something needs to be hotfixed or adjusted. You want time to be able to react. Releasing a patch on the day of an event that might bring in new players is very risky. So no, that’s absolutely not a reason. If anything, It would be counter productive.
Hey everybody,
We have just posted the patchnotes and will release the patch at 1pm (CET).
