[2022] Game save crashes after new DLC

You need to revert to 1.5.1 to complete campaigns started under that patch. You do that in the Steam Betas tab for the game.  

Ah, was it Ironman? If so, that automatically saves under the new version as soon as you load the save file, which in this situation unfortunately ruins it.

But you do get a warning from the launcher or game before you do that - did you see that?
