This included making sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again?

Firewalls can't cause problems like that. How about your antivirus app?

From your description it seems to be related to the video area though. Please edit that pdx_settings.txt and find the Renderer line. Change it as follows:

"renderer"={
version=0
value="OpenGL"
}
That will be slower, but it's just a test - does it crash still?

I ran that game on my Mac for several years with no problem.

Is there any particular action or event that seems to trigger the crash?

I just tried that save on my Windows desktop, and still could not crash it in several years' play. I went into the throne room and still no problem.

I'm stumped on this one I think!

Not at all a waste of my time - you had a real problem with our game, that's what I'm here for.

I too cannot account for what happened to you and how it came good, really the game and nVidia driver reinstalls ought to be entirely independent.

Do let us know if you have any further troubles.
