I frankly don't know if what you see there is expected or not on your video system, although of course you would expect lower graphics quality with that option off. On my nVidia 1060 it looks somewhat similar but I'd say better than you see.

With the fps thing, is it just the higher fps number you are after? Or does it make for better general performance too?
