We see ck3.exe hangs in that dxdiag but no crashes - is it actually crashing to desktop or hanging or both?

GrimtaleS said: I've tested with/without mods and it is still crashing.
Disabling mods does not remove effects they have already had on a save game file. Does this ever happen in a campaign that's never had any mods used in it?

If so has it always happened since you've had the game, or only since when?

When you restart the game can you carry on from thats ave file? Or it is broken then and crashes/hangs immediately from then on?

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log, exceptions.log

GrimtaleS said: Earlier I have played CK3 on my laptop and there are not any crashes at all. Then I have bought PC with high specs and launched the game after Royal Court was released and I have constant crashes. Also Stellaris and HOI IV both run well.
After restart I can carry on last save.
I've attached settings, error and system. I do not have "exceptions.log" in this folder.
Well that's a huge error log! Let's clear things up, and remove those problem mods we see in there:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- unsubscribe from ALL Mods in the Steam Workshop for this game

- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test with a new campaign - NOt with any existing one. Is that any better?

GetmySwagerino said: I have the same problem, randomly my PC reboot. I have this problems since september/october 2021. I updated my drivers, graphics card, uninstalled and installed but it crashes all the time after some minutes and sometimes after a couple hours. Iam really sad because i love this game and with the new updates and dlc´s its incredible but these crashes are annoying. I dont know what to do and iam really mad that nothing helps.
Please start your own thread, with full problem description and history, and system details as you see me ask for in all these threads. Thanks.

I don't understand why you get all those errors in that log. We're just not seeing that elsewhere.

If you have access to any other machine to test this on, do you see that error.log there too?

Okay then, what if you make a new Windows user, log into Windows as that, and try the game there? Does the error log look the same?

So it's something on this machine rather than a bad Window user profile.

I'm sure if you install the game on any other computer, as a test, you do not get that?
