Resource Mayhem

The Colonial Administration has tasked the Calypso Defense Force (CDF) with holding a new resource drive to capitalize on the economic boom following the recent asteroid impact. This drive will allow colonists in all major professions to participate in the colony's growth while officially directing these resources where they are most needed.

As before, this allows individual colonists to be included in Colonial Administration supply chains by delivering select materials to CDF officials to unlock reward tiers. Due to the colony's shifting needs, some of the resources required will differ from the latest resource drive earlier this year.

I would like to share some important updates on the development of Entropia and our journey to deliver an even more immersive and dynamic experience. We’ve made substantial progress across several technical fronts, and I wanted to provide a clear picture of where we stand today and what you can expect in the near future.

Technical Progress:

Development towards the release of the Entropia Unreal Engine experience is accelerating. Rather than taking a complete overhaul approach from the ground up, we’ve shifted to a more gradual, iterative process. We are now separating development into two distinct projects: the Unreal Engine client and the backend. These can be developed independently, which allows us to deliver tangible improvements to you much sooner than our previous approach would have permitted.

Welcome to this graphics update overview for the 18.1.0 version update in the Q1 release 2024. You will find before and after images of various textures, the new look of multiple Entropia Universe armors, updated creatures, and the major graphical changes!

Some environmental and character art elements started to feel old, so we updated a wide range of art assets in Entropia Universe. We have upgraded a large collection of elements in the game, including armors, terrain textures, creatures, vegetation, and general lighting improvements, with modern industry quality standards.

We have been focusing on updating terrain textures, creatures, and character armor. All these assets have been crafted from the ground up with new models and textures.

2024 User Interface Update

The Entropia Universe User Interface (UI) is an extensively discussed topic within the MindArk team and our valued community. In our continuous quest to enhance the Entropia Universe gaming experience, we’ve embarked on a mission to resume and complete the UI update! Announcing Triton Industries Shares, Home of the Sand King

In December 2023, Triton Industries will expand Entropia Exchange with 500.000 Triton Industries Shares! The Entropia Exchange allows participants to acquire shares via virtual companies and receive revenue in the form of dividends from estates controlled by those companies. Triton Industries is now offering shares on Triton Island, a small island northeast of Amethera on planet Calypso, also known by Entropians as the “Sand King Island”!

Cosmetic Mayhem Token

The upcoming Halloween Mayhem 2023 event will introduce new Cosmetic Mayhem Tokens into Entropia Universe! The Cosmetic Mayhem Tokens can be used to obtain exclusive cosmetic items such as clothes, masks, and more. Compared to previous years, cosmetic items will now be available through the Mayhem Vendor. 

The Mayhem Vendor will update over time with new cosmetics. The Cosmetic Mayhem Tokens are untradeable through Entropia Universe Auction and by player-to-player trade, but you can freely trade the items you acquire from the Mayhem Vendor.

There will be five obtainable cosmetic tokens: Cosmetic Mayhem Token, Bronze Cosmetic Mayhem Token, Silver Cosmetic Mayhem Token, Gold Cosmetic Mayhem Token, and Redulite Cosmetic Mayhem Token.

Introducing TWEN Token

In the upcoming Entropia Universe version update, we're introducing the TWEN Token, lootable from any creature across Entropia Universe!

With the TWEN Tokens, you can buy TWEN Edition items! You'll be able to use the TWEN Token to buy these items from a TWEN Trader! One TWEN Trader will be available on each planet, which offers different planet-specific TWEN items. TWEN Tokens and TWEN Edition items bought from the TWEN Trader are tradeable. 

Items from the TWEN Token Traders are in limited supply and on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Throughout the remaining TWEN Event, you will be able to continue enjoying the unique robot spawns. Let's continue celebrating Entropia Universe 20th anniversary!!

Nanocube Changes

In an upcoming Version Update several changes are being made to Nanocubes, outlined below.
 

• Nanocubes can no longer be purchased directly from the Trade Terminal.
• Nanocubes are now obtained by using the new Recycle tab in the Trade Terminal interface.
• Most items and resources can be recycled into Nanocubes, with a few exceptions: items sold at the Trade Terminal, non-tradeable items, and Shrapnel.
• Recycled items generate a stack of Nanocubes with a value equivalent to the item’s Trade Terminal value.
• Nanocubes can now be listed at auction.

These changes should result in a more healthy and interdependent economy, which will benefit hunters, miners, and crafters alike.

Introducing Entropia Unreal Tokens

This year’s Merry Mayhem event will feature the introduction of an exciting new lootable item!

Entropia Unreal Tokens can be looted from all creatures in the Merry Mayhem event instances. After the launch of Entropia Universe Unreal, the tokens can be converted to Entropia Unreal Shares on the Entropia Exchange. The Entropia Unreal Tokens will become tradable in early 2023.

Entropia Unreal Shares will receive revenue sharing based on all activity throughout Entropia Universe. The current plan is to release 1 million tokens/shares, with each share receiving an equal portion of 1% of MindArk’s revenu...

Entropia Enjin Collaboration

Ever evolving with new technologies, MindArk has been assessing recent blockchain developments and what they might offer to established virtual communities such as Entropia Universe. MindArk’s management team has determined that many of the recent gaming-related announcements in the blockchain space bear a lot of similarities to the experience that Entropia Universe has offered for nearly two decades, and thus large-scale integration of such technologies would not add significant value to the virtual universe experience.

There are, however, opportunities for targeted partnerships and system integrations which could extend the reach of Entropia Universe to new audiences, specifically enthusiasts of the “metaverse” and “play-to-earn” concepts that have received a lot of media attention recently. • Welding Wire Blueprint (L) has had its recipe updated to include a resource from all the planets that have been added since its creation. The blueprint produces more welding wire per attempt proportional to the increase in resources used
