The Triglavian Invasion will soon reach its zenith, and as this finale approaches, both the Triglavians and EDENCOM have reported that Capsuleers loyal to their respective causes will be rewarded! Jump into the conflict before it's too late and choose your side.

In further news, EDENCOM has released a statement urging all Capsuleers who currently live in systems conquered by Triglavian forces to relocate and find a new home immediately.

probably spending like 2-3b on a new abyssal sacrilege, decking it out, jumping into a t4 and then realizing i got the wrong missile types and dying because i couldn't kill anything.

the most satisfying thing i've done is finding like 1b+ in loot in a easy guristas high-sec site (like 3 or 4/10 if i recall correctly) - like to run these in a jackdaw but it's been a while since i did this.

Hey, I love the game and love the community but I would say botting empires are probably the biggest existential threat to the game right now. - What new steps are you taking to further combat botting? - Do you have any big plans for a better system than player reports, because when a group has eyes at the base of a pipe, there will be characters never caught and reported.

peligro here, salty old dog - been banning bots since i got my first ethernet cable at the age of 4 years old!

  • There are a lot of things happening right now. Team Law and Order is focused on detection, prevention and remediation.
  • Team BatCave is focused on tooling used for detection, prevention and remediation.
  • Hitherto unnamed amazing talent is "actively working on" client side detection which has always been something CCP wanted back!
  • From my point of view there is also a much closer cooperation between "Security" and "Player Experience" and "EVE Development" which results in better aligned goals and hopefully better results!
  • BTW, people do NOT need to be reported to get banned for cheating at all. The extra attention to the player reports is done in order to show our customers that CCP is willing to listen and learn to what you are telling us. I work with the bot reports on a daily basis but I also know that there are TONS o...

Without naming names (you guys already did it!) - I dismantled 3 corporations from a problematic rental alliance earlier this week. This is not really visible to you guys as players, because as you said, one corp vanishes - another one replaces them. I also seize the ISK they pay in rent but it usually doesn't dent the wallets of the facilitators. This is happening behind the scenes on a daily basis but outside of the email sent to people who report bots which CCP takes action against, there isn't much for you guys to go on.

When a corporation is dismantled anyone who isn't involved in whatever cheating activity was taking place is removed from the corporation. All assets in space are blown up.

A lot of this is manual and takes time... That's why internal tooling is really important.

Also bots can't delete the character and create new ones - their accounts are permanently banned. Most of CCP's actions against bots result in BANS - almost all of which are permanent.

Usually they will make new accounts, using virtualization or something else.

Fair, but like we've seen with groups like kids with guns and a number of the rental alliances in the past they just end up cycling characters through either the same corps or rejoining the rental alliances with different corps once one gets banned/neg walleted. The rental managers know whats going on and facilitate them doing it but we never hear of them being reprimanded for it? The major problem of alliances and alt corps being setup for the sole purpose of distancing botting from the main alliance won't stop until the repercussions are felt up the chain

At the risk of being judged by the PC master race, GM Fate and I have an unhealthy addiction to collecting platinum trophies on playstation... please send help...

i'm on the other side of the spectrum: serial unfinisher, never plat'd anything, don't finish most my games

to

if they dropped corp before they were teleported it's because a GM kicked them out. this isn't done when they are banned as bots really.

Thanks for your reply. I'm a Security Analyst working on EVE and I deal mostly with bots and RMT.

I can't really give away too much here but CCP is tooling up heavily in this department right now; we are also actively investigating client side detection but it's still too early for Real News on that.
