Thank you for all the bug reports. We confirmed at least one issue, but we are investigating further, as we are not sure, if this really explains the problem.

I have two characters in the same station, sitting in the same ship with a cloned overview/same graphics profile. One that's been logged in since downtime (~9 hours) is performing significantly worse (~50ps and stuttering a lot) than my client that's been logged in for only 2 hours which is sitting at 75fps

Even relogging the account that has been logged in for a long time still manifests the lower performance. Very odd. Maybe something being cached that builds up over time?

Edit: I logged ALL accounts out and back in again, and they were all back up to 80fps (gsync limit)

That is indeed interesting and sounds like some kind of leak. I hope we see something in logs about this.

Hey! It would be great, if you could send a bug report from an affected client (through F12 - Report Bug) directly after you experienced such a slow jump, so that we can investigate further on what might be going wrong.

For the crashes it would also be great to receive bug reports, especially if it happens more than once.

Thanks!

Hey,

Depending on which graphics chip your computer has, then it is indeed possible, that it is just running out of VRAM on such an old computer, which would in turn crash the graphics driver. It is also possible, that some bug is being triggered - either within the EVE client or in the graphics driver.

Please try following things:

  • Update your graphics driver
  • Verify the resource cache of the client through the launcher (maybe there are corrupt files) and download the full client through the launcher).
  • Reduce the graphics settings of the client to minimum and then slowly increase the settings again to see if you can find a problematic setting for your client.
  • Try to use outside view for Upwell structures, if the hangar is causing VRAM problems
  • Try to monitor the VRAM usage

If everything still looks like it is a bug (quite likely), then please send a bug report from within the client (F12 - Report Bug) a...

Thank you very much for the report. Seems like this did indeed degrade.
We are on it. :(

As far as I can see it comes through fairly well in these screengrabs

Thank you so much!

The bluriness is extremely obvious for me, I can very clearly see it settle even on AA=low. Running on a 1440p monitor with the settings above, RTX 4070Ti.

As far as I can tell the red light doesn't change based on settings, however it did appear to behave differently when I switched ambient occlusion to high (but it did persist on at least one account). A semi consistent trigger for me has been opening my character sheet, and after maybe 1-1.5s the character portrait will load in, which will trigger the red light bug.

The red light also seems to happen when accounts are just left idle with the character sheet open.

Interesting! Can you screenshot the blurriness itself, or does it not show on screenshots?

Hi! Thank you for your bug report!

Regarding blurriness: With what settings (especially also resolution and vsync) are you observing this? Can you capture this in a screenshot? While the changes to antialiasing can indeed something lead to a slight increase of blurriness, it should not be disturbing (and I personally can not even notice it on my computer).

Regarding red light in station: So far I have not been able to reproduce this, but I'll keep looking. Does this depend on specific settings?

There is AA for DX11, but AA requires high shader quality now.

Hey,

We have a mass test on Singularity today, 13th of April, at 17:00 EVE-time (=UTC). We are testing the new shadows, improved antialiasing and gather also some server performance data.

Checking Loglite

I think I have found something odd.

But it might be enough of something to have your guys look into.

Some of the services will go 0.000s/r

But I am noticing some stuttering at 0.300/0.400s/r. For each service attached.

But another seems how the code between undock and the various processes for the stations and other materials is handled. I undocked from an NPC station...and it didn't generate behind me for a rather good time.

Feel free to send a quick bug report at https://community.eveonline.com/support/bug-reports/ with the logs attached, then I can take a quick look and see if anything weird stands out.

How would I go about this?

Ironically information isn't going to the document folders its going into C drive.

I just cross checked it, its generated two logs. per day. For Game Log.

But this chat log though, I have every conversation I have had from 2020 to 2023 logged here and all the innane commentary I didn't interact with in it as well.

Maybe its dropping too much information into the logs and lagging out? [Might explain the Jita issue if the logs are having a hard time processing the massive amount of traffic.]

Could also bookmarks affect this as well? Or other stored data in the game?

Which information is going into C drive? To what location there?

As long as these log files are still being generated, then this should be fine and should normally not cause this lag. These folders can get huge, but this should normally not cause problems for the client (although I would still recommend to clean them up at some point a bit, as it can cause load for Windows, especially when you search for files and similar).

Best would be to check in LogLite, if there are any errors being spammed massively, which could then explain the problems.

Your last paragraph might be giving a hint: Please check if the client has proper permissions to write logs to your documents folder. If the client fails to write combat logs, then it can lead to client performance problems.

You can start LogLite once from the launcher before starting the client, and if this is the case, then there will be a lot of errors about failing to write files.

We pushed a fix to TQ today at downtime. The problem also only happened (at least to me), when the computer was very busy, like when running multiple clients at high settings. Reducing the settings or the amount of clients could also have helped to stop this issue.

We'll investigate tomorrow on how we can fix this problem (a race condition).

A fix for this has been released in today's patch. If you are still experiencing this issue after today's downtime, then please ensure to write a new bug report it.

In this case it is extra important to send a bug report with as many details as possible, so that we can investigate further.

Is hard to duplicate because it happens so randomly and not always on the same client but is always when undocking just sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't. The only thing I do use on the regular when it has happened before is group launch to launch all clients from the eve launcher, log into the characters, form fleet with alts and undock. Whether any of that has something to do with causing it im not sure but if I notice a repeat pattern I will mention.
