237s have wondering oh my gosh I don't know

242s I'm going with it we're going to be
244s showing you a couple of teasers of what
246s is in development for everspace too but
249s Eric I thought everspace 2 was fully
251s released why yes good sir or ma'am we
254s have fully released but we wanted to
256s just make more content to the game
258s anyway so a lot of content that we are
261s working on right now will be completely
263s free to anybody who owns the game now we
266s are also working on a premium DLC pack
269s it's going to have a lot of Rich content
271s gonna bring more to the story uh that is
275s being worked on that will be later
278s but uh yeah in the meantime we just want
279s to give you more stuff to do more things
281s to find and uh we're gonna tease just a
284s little bit more of what that looks like
286s today now in addition to that I will be
289s going through my general
292s nightmare difficulty playthrough for
295s those of you who don't know what that
296s means basically nightmare is the
298s difficulty you unlock by completing the
300s game and there's a very small chance
302s that legendary items can drop during it
305s I'm hopeful that we'll have a legendary
307s drop during the course of the stream
308s because
309s maybe it might be something new but uh
311s the chances uh level 14 is
314s I'm really hopeful
316s um because I have to be because the
318s chances are not in my favor uh anyway so
321s let's go ahead and just start things out
323s uh with one super minor change which is
326s a title adjustment
329s or a naming convention adjustment what I
331s am looking at right here is a Barren
334s Enforcer
336s but this is exactly the same thing of
339s what a Barren executioner used to be it
342s just got a name change that's all why do
344s we give it a name change I have no idea
346s but maybe we'll find out in the future
349s maybe we will find out in the future so
352s this is the exact same item
354s just a different name change so if you
356s see that and you're like hey what's the
357s enforcer it's it's the Executioner so
359s that's that's all just it's just a
362s different name that's all okay but we
365s will be getting into a couple other
367s little details that are in fact a new
369s through the course of the stream
370s including but not limited to the ship
373s color randomizer details and new item
377s attributes I usually call them item

380s um all of those things that can generate

462s your own which I believe uh this guy is
465s going to happen oh he's level 13. never
467s mind just kidding
468s but regardless the fact that he's one
470s level lower means hey maybe this won't
471s be too bad I just need to stay close to

475s and we should probably be okay I think
479s I also needed Dodge attacks
485s this isn't too bad thus far
488s it won't take much for everything to go
492s poorly so we just need to stay on top of
494s taking out these crystals before they
496s can blast us they can do some serious
499s damage and then we also want to take
500s this out pretty quick too

627s everspace one this is a direct reference

829s when you have lots and lots of stuff in
831s your inventory so if you don't like it

977s awesome and does wonderful work but now
980s you can hover over different things to
982s randomize them so you could get a random
984s decal if you wanted to you get a random
986s window tint if you wanted to do that you
988s get random paint jobs if you wanted to
990s do that so um yeah so you can really go
993s a bit more random on the front of this
996s we feel actually that's kind of I kind
999s of like that honestly
1002s I think we're gonna keep this this is

1005s um but yeah we didn't want to do it for
1006s the engine colors and emissive lights
1008s because those can be a little bit more
1010s um not fun if you're not mixing them up

1671s some experience gains we're almost at
1673s level 15. we are almost at the point
1675s where Superior items can actually start
1678s dropping so Superior for those of you
1679s didn't know level 15 is where there's
1681s like a I think it's one percent chance
1683s in the loot pool
1684s when an item drops it there's a one
1686s percent chance that it could be a
1688s superior item
1689s uh yeah so that's fun that's neat
1694s we're not quite there yet

2057s does it's in relation to the color
2058s randomizer does it randomize the colors
2061s only or also the finish and the value of

2066s it does not no it will not change the
2069s type of finish and it will not change
2071s the value of the Finish no no we didn't
2073s want to go full random we just want to
2075s do partial random so it's only changing
2077s the colors thereof but then you can kind
2079s of tweak it like you get a color
2080s combination you're like I kind of like
2082s this but what if and you could tweak it
2084s a little bit further from there it still
2085s saves a tremendous amount of time
2088s um especially if you're just like
2090s looking to have something different
2092s um also I've been hovering over three
2093s items that all have uh new modifiers on
2096s them actually attributes on them
2098s but uh yeah so uh same thing with like
2101s the uh the decal the decal only changes
2103s the decal that you have it doesn't
2106s change the colors of the decal itself
2110s so yeah great question

2122s wondering why there are no solar flares
2124s in random locations in the NF flare zone

2131s flare zone are you talking about like in
2133s super light
2135s because that was gamification we
2138s intentionally made it to where we didn't
2141s want
2142s an impact against the player during
2145s basically more or less you're traveling
2147s right like if you're going from location
2150s to location we didn't want you to
2154s have impedements on that that actually
2156s goes back to a design philosophy we uh
2159s discovered at the very start of
2160s development some of you may even
2162s remember in our pre-release build
2164s pre-alpha build where when you're flying
2166s you could have an interdiction status
2169s and if you were being interdicted you
2171s had to like fly into the circle it was
2173s very much inspired by Elite dangerous
2175s interpretation of that but what we
2177s discovered is that
2179s it sucked it wasn't fun for what we're
2182s trying to accomplish as a player who
2185s wants to go very intentionally to
2186s certain locations it was important for
2189s us to allow the player agency to be king
2192s so nothing should be impeding super
2195s light from one location to another
2197s instead what we opt to do instead of
2200s saying like oh you're being interdicted
2201s now you have to do this thing no instead
2203s you see this distress call do you want
2206s to go do that it's your choice you're
2208s not forced but you could maybe go see
2210s you see you know an unknown signal it's
2213s your choice you're not forced
2215s it's you know that's the direction we
2218s took and the same thing applies you know
2220s uh if we were to go uh over to to keone
2224s right
2225s if you're in the inner flare Zone we
2227s absolutely uh didn't want super light to
2230s have that sort of impediment on you it
2232s just was more it made more sense from
2234s the gamified standpoint of you get to
2236s where you need to go if you're going to
2237s stop in the inner flare zone now you're
2239s going to start having those issues and
2241s whatnot uh but that's uh that's about it
2245s that's about it so hopefully that's
2247s answering the question if it's
2249s pertaining to super light if you're
2251s talking more on like inside of the
2253s location it definitely should have
2255s constant flares so yeah he did follow up
2258s with uh he did mean it random locations

2263s um yeah it random location like um yeah

2315s the Sentinels all the lightning scale
2317s okay is there a damage dependent on the
2320s sorry is the damage dependent on the
2322s damage of the primary weapon equipped or
2323s is it a static
2328s there are static values behind the
2330s scenes that are not shown it is not
2333s dependent on the weapon
2334s so whenever you are using the Sentinels
2337s alt it doesn't take your weapon and then
2341s amplify it with the um
2344s the ultimate instead it removes the
2347s weapon and now you're firing your
2349s ultimate uh for the gunship it's very
2352s much the same the turret is its own
2354s independent entity so it has no factors
2358s from your Primary Weapons of being used
2362s um now that being said I am rather
2364s confident that those values are
2367s Amplified through anything that is
2369s enhancing like your your main source of
2371s damage so like if we were to go over
2373s here for your Firepower for example this
2376s would also apply to your ultimate
2381s um so yeah there you go that's going to
2384s be that's gonna be how that all comes
2386s together there's not really uh any other
2390s any other factors there it's the alt
2393s does a very specific thing and then the
2394s Firepower enhances it
2396s utility is it utility oh utility excuse
2399s me

2404s did we forget to mention that I thought

2477s made it happen but uh yeah more or less

2483s decision that was made that felt right
2485s for the location like if you're in the
2486s interflare zone you should have constant
2489s flares going on so that doesn't quite
2492s explain random locations generating
2494s there that don't have them however so

2613s others just like in general and
2616s something that we want to have we we
2618s want to have some of that right like we
2620s want to have some of it like you feel
2622s really good for finding something and
2624s then you're also like well the item's
2625s still good even though the modifier
2626s might not be like there's there's an
2629s enjoyment Factor there
2631s um through looting games as a whole
2633s right I mean Marco could absolutely
2635s speak to this he he does a lot of this
2637s um in terms of like balance and support
2640s for what we're finding we also do want
2642s to have the side of balanced new item uh
2646s attributes as well so what I mean by
2649s that is the item attributes that are
2652s generating in uh the new ones that we're
2654s adding we want them to kind of be in
2656s that sort of Middle Ground we don't want
2657s them to be like the best new modifier of
2660s all time but we also want it to be
2661s better than some of the other ones that
2663s maybe are already in the game so again
2666s just kind of like a new opportunity for
2669s you as a player to maybe find a pathway
2671s you didn't before so as a simple example
2674s we have the thermal gun here it says
2677s going below 30 percent whole fully
2679s recharges weapon energy can only occur
2682s once every 10 seconds
2684s so here you could uh you could be
2687s wild in a ship that's just cruising for
2690s a bruising and maximize your thermal gun
2693s energy and every 10 seconds it just
2695s comes back to you
2697s um then you also have so so kind of like
2699s a trade-off effect uh a little bit of
2702s Daredevil play if you will then we have
2704s other ones uh like this Auto Cannon
2707s where it has deals 20 bonus damage
2710s against turrets I think we also saw that
2712s on a secondary so um we'll talk about
2714s that a little bit more but this idea of
2716s dealing bonus damage to particular
2718s targets and maybe certain factions it
2721s was also kind of an inclusion to to
2723s cover the ground of maybe finding new
2726s opportunities in certain spaces
2730s um so let's go through a couple more of
2732s them that doesn't have any new ones
2733s deals 20 bonus damage against Capital
2735s ships Capital ships are anything that's
2738s much larger than a standard Fighter
2740s um so that's going to be like your drone
2742s carriers your destroyers it's going to
2745s be your um overseers uh in in or not
2749s overseer excuse me inquisitors
2751s um it's going to be
2753s um you know those those ships that are
2754s much lar like massive right mostly there
2757s are bosses inside of like hras Rift
2760s stuff like that
2761s that's going to be the big damage output
2763s there and then from the shop we saw a
2765s couple more
2766s um Critical Hits have a 40 chance to
2769s recharge weapon energy by two percent
2771s all right well it's like percents of
2773s percents and you're like wait what
2774s basically if you're firing your
2777s secondary weapon and you're getting
2779s critical hits your weapon energy is also
2782s going to come back to you so you're
2783s going to be able to retain your weapon
2785s firing okay
2788s um and these values um maybe this is
2790s perfect maybe it needs to be tweaked a
2792s little bit we are not 100 there yet so
2795s maybe those values will change or maybe
2796s they are exactly where they need to be a
2798s couple other ones to note so the beam
2800s laser actually received a bit of a
2802s transformation since the last time uh we
2805s dove in on the conversation pertaining
2807s to mining you'll notice that the item no
2810s longer has a trait what's a trait you
2813s might ask well
2814s um whenever we're talking about a trait
2816s we're talking about something very
2818s specific uh that only that one item has
2822s and of course I don't have like anything
2823s else that has a trait
2827s oh my gosh uh but basically like our uh
2832s speed word Shield would have had a trait
2835s where it's you always you only
2837s regenerate your Shields when boosting
2838s that's a trait that's an item trait it's
2840s applicable specifically to the speed
2842s word right so nothing else can have that
2844s well the beam laser used to have the
2846s trait where you gained uh 25 bonus to
2851s all mining modifiers
2853s but we noticed that kind of sucked for
2856s two reasons one it didn't do a dang
2859s thing if you didn't have any mining
2861s modifiers so it was completely pointless
2863s to a degree and the second thing is that
2866s it didn't actually add the weight of
2868s mining to the laser that we actually
2871s wanted it to add it didn't didn't really
2873s feel as impactful as what we were going
2876s for so instead we have actually adjusted
2879s all three of the prior mining attributes
2884s that items can have beam lasers have a
2888s chance to roll them but they don't have
2889s any particular traits and they've also
2892s all been kind of increased to help uh
2895s make mining more efficient and effective
2898s so as a very straightforward example now
2901s instead of there being a refund a
2903s certain percentage of weapon energy
2904s whenever you're mining no no it's just
2906s straight you refund all the weapon
2908s energy when you're mining so if you're
2909s mining with a beam laser you will not
2911s lose any of your energy you're like low
2914s powered mining you're scooping it all in
2917s and then you can turn and fire and
2918s you're good to go or if there's lots to
2920s mine your beam laser is going to just
2922s keep going it's going to keep going
2924s you're not going to have to slow down
2925s and stop and wait for it to recharge or
2927s anything like that it's just going to be
2929s very very efficient when it comes to
2931s mining with that one hopefully we'll see
2933s some of those other modifiers in the
2935s future we've already seen this one
2938s already seen that one already seen that
2940s one
2941s so yeah there are still a lot more to go
2944s so that was only just a handful of some
2946s of the new item
2947s attributes that can be visible

4845s so there are some games it's not all the
4848s games but in general our team feels that
4851s the way that the quick save and quick
4853s load system should operate is that the
4855s most recent save is not a quick save
4858s the quick save and quick load operate

4861s so when you click save if you die and
4864s you want to load that you can either hit
4867s your quick load button or you can go
4869s into the load thing and choose quick
4870s save otherwise it will show it will load
4872s the last sequence to save okay

5668s instead of seeing that there can be
5669s multiples that like deal 20 damage to a
5672s certain thing
5673s you're only going to have like one
5674s modifier that could have that attribute
5677s so guaranteed in the future your items
5681s will generate just one deal 20 bonus
5683s damage to something and then the other
5686s ones would be different you can't have
5687s like three or four attributes that are
5690s all like deals 20 damage to this deals
5692s 20 damage to that deals 20 we wanted to
5694s invoke more opportunities and in order
5697s to do that we needed to restrict this
5699s one so just just a quick point of
5700s reference uh so this will very likely
5704s not be happening this generation of uh
5706s item attributes in the future uh just
5708s giving you a slice of what's going on in
5711s our development Minds

5991s Interceptor

5995s think there was a number of people who
5996s would ask about it we'd get clarity and
5998s then people would continue asking about
5999s it for the Interceptor it was refund 20

6003s deactivating weapon overdrive that's
6004s already a mouthful and a lot of you are
6006s probably scratching your heads what did
6008s that mean don't worry about it because
6010s it's gone now instead you have wind
6011s flying toward a locked enemy Target
6013s Beyond 1500 meters at range you gain 15
6017s increased speed like you're intercepting
6020s them in your Interceptor those are the
6022s two changes primary changes

6032s they've noticed that they can change the
6033s passage whenever they want for any ship

6576s tried to put emphasis on a lot of what
6579s we have is more so the open space combat
6583s situations and those are more repeatable
6585s through the hras and the Rifts and
6586s whatnot but uh yeah I mean there's no
6590s denying that the outlawed Dreadnought
6592s that we've spoken about in the past has
6595s an interior space to it this is
6598s something that we've spoken about quite
6600s a bit so if you've ever missed that
6602s there you go and the outlaw Dreadnought
6604s is in fact going to appear in our DLC
6608s the premium DLC in the future so uh
6611s maybe that could be something to be of
6613s interest to you in the future otherwise
6615s just random space stations that are

6676s the very beginning of development it
6678s could have been something worked in a

6681s stand it would require a hefty amount of

6685s plus and we'd just rather do more with

6691s expanding as opposed to replaying at

6719s nightmare difficulty that you can replay

7036s very much reads like something that I

7041s they'd probably sell you something very

7044s means is instead of calculating and
7046s running all of these processes that are
7048s going to put your computer Up in Flames

7052s bring the content out as best as
7054s possible and also Rectify with a
7056s solution of allowing the tractor beam to
7059s suck in stuff through walls up to a
7061s certain point which has helped in most
7064s cases because those pieces don't get too
7065s far away so
