Is it still a 99 if it costs more than 99p? Because I think those days are long gone :(

Play Fall Guys!

What was the most interesting/exciting part of development?

When we realised Fall Ball is better with a 2nd ball. I think we lost a whole day of development time to 'testing' that one.

(also, the beta weekend was pretty outstanding!)

Ps4 exclusive skins?

We don't have anything to confirm on this just yet, but if we were to announce anything in future, we'd do it via our Twitter and Discord channels!

In a hypothetical situation, that fall guys were our only food source left and humans had to eat them, how would they taste and how would the texture be?

So hypothetically speaking I think they would taste and feel like Springfield Elementary School dinners; minced up old gym mats.

Mind you if it was only Humans and Fall Guys left i'm not confident who would be eating who, did you see Devolver Direct?

If you could've gone back to the start of development and given yourself advice, what would you tell your past selves?

100 players is too many, do 60 instead!

In know we're in r/PS4 but talking about PC here... Are there SEA servers for this game? The beta was dreadful for SEA players, not only me but many others couldn't find a single match since the alleged update below on discord...

" We've made some improvements for matchmaking that should really help people in regions that are struggling with numbers."

Not a single match since. No support on tickets opened. I think before this update we were able to get into EU servers but not 1 game since then.

PS: I used Germany VPN and was able to play again. No matches in Singapore with/without VPN.

Please let us know about this.

Hello! Sorry your beta experience hasn't been perfect, over the course of the beta we've been ramping up our server count in many locations!

Upon release there will be servers in at least:
- Australia
- East Asia
- Europe
- India/Middle East
- Korea
- South America
- South East Asia
- US Central
- US East
- US West

The team peaked at roughly 45 people and we've been working on the game for around 2 years!

Each season will have it's own theme yeah - and the new rounds in those styles will be part of the overall pool of rounds. So every time we do a season there'll be more and more variety not just in game-play but in visuals too!

Each season will also have its own reward path with new themed costumes, emotes etc. to collect :)

would be cool easter egg!

We'd love to get Craig on board!

What has been the most difficult hurdle to overcome?

From a purely engineering perspective, it's been the networking. It turns out making a physics oriented game with 60 players is actually quite an undertaking!

Every level / obstacle has been a case of figuring out exactly how efficiently we can relay information to clients to maintain good server performance / networking throughput whilst providing a fun and responsive user experience.

Levels are often iterated on multiple times to improve performance over the course of their lifetime, and finding the perfect balance between design and engineering has been a fun and interesting challenge!

Some levels have been much more difficult than others (I'm looking at you Egg Scramble 😠 ) But it's been a fantastic challenge and we are constantly improving the experience however we can!

Why did you choose to release on ps+ at launch?

Sony were really enthusiastic about the game when we showed them an early version of it, and we felt that taking this route would help expose the game to a far larger audience than we could have reached on our own. Also, it's something that worked super well for Rocket League which has been one of our inspirations.

For me it's been designing rounds that are really fun for 60 players! We've tried a lot that just don't work at the maximum player count - for example, the first iteration of FallBall, the football round, was a full on 30v30 round, and meant that the majority of players would win or lose without ever having touched the ball. Ensuring that all players feel involved at this scale has been tricky but I'm really proud of the rounds we've got in there so far!

Awesome question - I'll copy and paste u/FallGuysJoe's answer from a blog post he wrote earlier this year:

1. 60 players creates the perfect amount of chaos. When we first started working on Fall Guys we had to ballpark our player count based purely on what felt right to us, and 100 players became this talismanic number we decided to aim for. “100 players, 1 winner“ instantly gives players a sense of the mayhem they’re going to deal with, and two years ago was the standard for all Battle Royale titles (Fall Guys isn’t a battle royale per sé, but when explaining the game for the first time it helps to draw those parallels).

Once we started prototyping gameplay we quickly we found that players couldn’t really tell the difference between 50 and 100 contestants. ...

Will this game have trophies and will they be easy or hard, on a scale from 1-10?

We will have trophies and they're in a variety of difficulties - from giving someone a hug, to winning several shows in a row!
