Hey there @GoldenEagle_222,

Thanks for getting back to us! After looking into your account, you should be able to launch For Honor without any issues. So, to better understand what is going on, could you tell us how you're trying to launch the game? Are you launching it directly from Ubisoft Connect?

Hey @GoldenEagle_222,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Just to fully understand your setup here - did you purchase the game via Ubisoft Connect, then use the installation files from a friends PC rather than installing the game from Ubisoft Connect yourself?

If this is the case, the game will potentially be looking for a Steam version to verify ownership, as you don't own this, it's triggering the client to request a key.

We advise installing the game via the client yourself if you haven't done so already.

Hey @GoldenEagle_222 ,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Your friend's Steam files will not be compatible in this case, as it's looking for a Steam account and entitlement that doesn't exist on your PC.

You would have to install your copy of the game yourself on Ubisoft Connect to be able to play.

If you have any further questions, please do let us know!

Hey @GoldenEagle_222,

The only way to properly launch the game would be to do what @Ubi-TheBerry advised - that is to download your own copy of the game from Ubisoft Connect on your PC. Copying files will not work, in this case, you're being asked for a key that the game doesn't actually have. This is because Ubisoft Connect version of games don't come with keys when purchased/acquired. They are automatically activated on the account that made the purchase of said game.

@GoldenEagle_222 No need to apologize, we're here to help you 😊
The games you mention do indeed come with activation keys. This is because some of our older titles require a key to be activated This is not the case for our newer games, such as For Honor πŸ˜‰

@GoldenEagle_222 Exactly!
So, it may seem that the files of For Honor you copied have no issues as you could verify them with no problem - but there are. In this case, the issue is that the launch Ubisoft Connect asks you for a key, which your game doesn't actually have. To resolve the issue, you will need to delete the files you copied and install the game directly from Ubisoft Connect 😊

@GoldenEagle_222 You can do that, but I must remind you that the game needs to be downloaded on the PC you're going to use to play the game. If your friend downloads the game on their PC to then send you the files, it won't work.

Hey @GoldenEagle_222,

Unfortunately this is the way it would need to be in order for the game to work.

If there is anything else we can help with, just let us know.
